Week 10 allowed me to make up for the tragedy in Week 9. I hit on all but one of my calls last week. The one player I missed on last week was Denver Broncos tight end Greg Dulcich. I urged fantasy owners to start him.
However, the ineptitude of Broncos QB Russell Wilson finally got to Dulcich. He had one catch for 11 receiving yards. Now, I hit the nail on the head with Los Angeles Rams tight end Tyler Higbee and Pittsburgh Steelers tight end Pat Freiermuth.
Higbee became a focal point of an anemic Rams offense Sunday. Still, that didn’t ruin his fantasy day after I recommended owners start him. Higbee caught all eight targets for 73 receiving yards. The one player I suggested owners sit failed to eclipse eight fantasy points, Freiermuth. He struggled, as he had only 36 receiving yards on 4 receptions. The Steelers won, but he was rendered useless.

Greg Dulcich, DEN (TE7)
I’m not willing to give up on Dulcich. Yet. I know he had a bad game last week, but he has such a positive matchup ahead.
Dulcich and the Broncos play the Las Vegas Raiders. The Raiders surrender the fifth most points per game to fantasy tight ends. I’m willing to look past his struggles for a few reasons: he still received four targets and had a tough matchup. I don’t expect another bad performance from Dulcich in Week 11. Because of the matchup, he should be started as a top-ten fantasy tight end.
George Kittle, SF (TE4)
San Francisco 49ers tight end George Kittle may seem like an obvious start, but he hasn’t had a great year for fantasy.
On the field, Kittle is as good as he’s ever been. The issue isn’t with Kittle declining as a player. It’s that head coach Kyle Shanahan isn’t featuring him much. Most of that can be attributed to the array of weapons on the 49ers offense. However, I expect things to change this week.
The sole reason for my optimism is that Shanahan schemes to attack defensive weaknesses. Well, they play the Arizona Cardinals, one of the worst defenses in the NFL at covering the tight end.
How bad? The Cardinals surrender 16 fantasy points per game to tight ends. That’s the second worst in the NFL. Look for Kittle to go nuclear in week 11. He will be a treat to watch this week!
Sits
Tyler Higbee (TE8)
Last week, I labeled Higbee as a smash start. Well, this week is the exact opposite. Sit him and don’t look back. Remember how I put Freiermuth as a sit in Week 10 because of a bad matchup? Now, Higbee gets to face that New Orleans Saints defense that refuses to get beat by tight ends. They allow the least amount of fantasy points per game to that position.
I don’t know if it is scheme related or because of the talent they have on defense, but it’s not a defense I’d want to test. There are other options you should look to over Higbee. You’ve already seen he can give you a goose egg. It seems like it could be another one of those games this week.
