Week 8 had sWeek 8 had some big matchups in the ACC, BIG 12, and PAC 12. Clemson survived a scare, TCU just keeps winning, and Oregon picked apart the UCLA defense. Stock Up

Bo Nix– QB, Oregon

Most had left Bo Nix for dead when it comes to Devy, especially after the huge beatdown to Georgia. But after that game, Nix has 17 touchdowns compared to only 1 interception. He also has three different games where he threw for three touchdowns, including the huge game vs. UCLA this past Saturday. He will not be a top pick, but he is by far having his best year in his career in touchdowns and completion percentage. We will have to see if he continues to play well or returns to what he showed at Auburn.

Marshawn Lloyd– RB, South Carolina

Marshawn Lloyd is finally healthy, and this year he started slow but has picked it up recently. He has had 451 rushing games and 8 total touchdowns in the last four games. The last two games were against tough SEC defenses in Kentucky and Texas A&M. He already has 17 receptions this year, so he is showing his versatility. If he continues to perform and stay healthy, he could be a riser and add to the already stacked 2023 running back class.

Jalin Hyatt– WR, Tennessee

Jalin Hyatt has made the most of his opportunity this year with Cedric Tillman being sidelined with an injury. He has already surpassed his former two years of production combined this year. In the last two games, Hyatt has a crazy 381 yards and 7 touchdowns, including 5 touchdowns in the big win vs. Alabama. Tennessee has a big game vs. Kentucky next, and if he continues to produce, he could start getting some serious hype for the 2023 NFL Draft.

Players To Keep Eye On

Troy Franklin– WR, Oregon

Troy Franklin did not make the big splash his freshman year, with only 18 receptions and 209 yards. While Bo Nix has been hitting his stride, Franklin has been one of the main targets. In three out of the last four games, he has scored a touchdown, and in two of those, he has 130 yards or more. Just like Nix, we will have to see if the production will continue, and he could be getting much more attention come 2024.

Roman Hemby– RB, Maryland

Roman Hemby was an afterthought of the 2021 recruiting class as the 130th-ranked running back and only played in three games. This year he has played in all eight games and has taken over the lead running back role for Maryland. This year he has four games over 100 yards and has shown he can catch the ball out of the backfield with 26 receptions. He is averaging 6.5 yards per carry but needs to perform better against better defenses in the Big 10.

Stock Down

D.J. Uiagalelei– QB, Clemson

Just when D.J. Uiagalelei was starting to pick up steam to get back in the spotlight, he had a clunker against Syracuse. He threw two interceptions and was eventually pulled for freshman Cade Klubnik. It was just one game, but it put a stop to the momentum he was putting together.

Quinn Ewers– QB, Texas

In college football, perception can change so fast. Quinn Ewers was a stock-up in Week 6, and Texas looked good. This week Texas lost another lead, and Ewers struggled against the Oklahoma State defense. After getting a 14-point lead, Texas again choked in the last quarter. Ewers threw two of his three interceptions in the last quarter. Ewers is very talented and still a top-end devy asset, but this shows there still are some ups and downs for him.
