Players You Should Consider Selling Before the Draft

The NFL Draft is one of the most exciting times of year. New players join teams and there seems to be new energy and at least for that day, every team feels like the next season will be better than the previous.

However, not EVERYONE loves the draft. Sometimes when new players come in, it means the beginning of the end for some established veterans. Let’s take a look at some of the players that you should consider selling now before the draft hurts their value. Most of these players are not stars, but they still hold some value in most leagues.

Jordan Howard

I thought it was obvious to most people, but the amount of Jordan Howard love that I saw on Twitter was a tad crazy. First of all, I think it is highly likely that the Eagles draft another running back in the draft. On top of that, the Eagles haven’t had a guy get the lion’s share of the snaps since Shady McCoy… and Howard isn’t the guy that would change their mind. Sell ASAP.

Ronald Jones

I also think that the Bucs will pick a running back in this draft. Now, I expect whoever the rookie is to “battle” for the starting job, however, I think if the new back has any talent at all, he will beat out Jones. Jones value will become extinct before the 2019 season.

Andy Dalton

In 1 QB leagues, he already has no value; but in Superflex he is a valuable piece to your team. However, I do worry that the Bengals could in fact draft Dalton’s replacement in this draft. I would in fact attempt to trade him for a safer QB option like Foles.

Devin Funchess

I know his value is high right now, but I do worry that the Colts could draft a receiver that would cut into his workload. On top of that, Ebron already established himself as that the main redzone target and we could see more of Marlon Mack toward the goal line as well. Id sell high here, personally.

Chris Warren/Isaiah Crowell

With all the picks that the Raiders have and Gruden’s love for a good running game, I wouldn’t be shocked if the Raiders took someone that came in and made this backfield even more muddy. If anyone in your leagues really believes in one of these two then I would try to sell.

Antonio Brown

Ok, here is the big one! Brown will absolutely be the top Raiders receiver in 2019. I do think that there will be a receiver taken in the first 3 rounds of this draft that could be the eventual replacement for Brown. I get it that Williams, Grant, and Ateman are there now as well but I don’t think any of those players could be looked at as a WR1 in the making. Don’t sell Brown low, but if you can get good value for him, I would have no problem unloading now or even waiting until midseason. Just don’t refuse any reasonable trade before the 2020 season.
