The Early Risers
Caleb Douglas has already earned a significant role in Miami after entering the league as a player Andrew was skeptical of. Kaelon Black has similarly moved up after establishing himself as Christian McCaffrey’s clear backup in San Francisco.
Garret has also become more encouraged by Emmett Johnson, whose receiving ability and elusiveness have translated better than expected. Even without playing yet, Fernando Mendoza benefits from how promising the Raiders offense has looked under Clint Kubiak.
Early Warning Signs
The start has been much rougher for Elijah Sarratt, who has struggled to even crack Baltimore’s active lineup.
Makai Lemon is also creating concern. The Eagles are getting him on the field, but his extremely shallow usage has looked more like a gadget role than the complete receiver role Garret expected coming into the league.
