12 Formation – Tight End Start/Sit Week 7

The 2020 NFL season is almost halfway over and @dynastydadmike is back with starts and sits to bring home the W!

Hey Nerds! The DynastyNerds writers are here to provide you with weekly starts and sits. We will be making our recommendations based on weekly consensus PPR rankings from FantasyPros. Here is our squad, and the position groups they will be covering to help you each week. Follow us, friend us, tweet us, we look forward to hearing from you!

NOTE: Rankings are based on a 12-team PPR league. So, saying WR2 means top 24, or TE1 means top 12, etc. and are pulled from Fantasy Pros consensus expert rankings.

We are almost halfway through the football season already Nerds! Wow, time sure flies and hopefully your dynasty teams are still in the mix for the playoffs which will be approaching quicker than you think. Before we dive into my Week 7 matchups, lets recap Week 6 shall we??? My starts were TJ Hockenson (9.7 with a TD), Irv Smith (11.50), and Robert Tonyan (5.5). My sits were Eric Ebron (2.9) and Rob Gronkowski (18.8). Of course, Gronk would decide to go off when every Tampa pass catcher was finally healthy and active. Oh well, it happens. Letโ€™s roll out week 7!

Players on a bye – Jack Doyle, Trey Burton, Mo Alie-Cox, Mark Andrews, Kyle Rudolph, Irv Smith Jr, Mike Gesicki

Robert Tonyan – Green Bay Packers (TE5)

I know, I said to start Tonyan last week and that backfired. He did miss a partial amount of the game and once he returned, the game was nearly out of hand. Look for Tonyan to bounce back in a big way against the pathetic Texans as they just allowed Anthony Firkser to finish as the TE2 last week.

Ian Thomas – Carolina Panthers (TE25)

It is going to take a set of stones to start Thomas as he only has 11 targets on the season but if you are desperate this would be the play to make. This would be the one time I advocate to start Thomas as New Orleans has allowed the third most points to the position and have played one less game. If you have a better option, go that route.

Eric Ebron – Pittsburgh Steelers (TE11)

The narrative for last week can almost be the exact same this week. With the emergence of Chase Claypool, Ebron falls farther down the pecking order for targets. It also appears that Diontae Johnson is on track to play Sunday which takes even more targets away from Ebron. Sit him again.

Chris Herndon – New York Jets (TE27)

This is more of a PSA than a sit. Buffalo is second in points allowed to the position but Herndon did not see a target in Week 6 and has failed to top 37 yards on the season. The Jets are a dumpster fire and not a single player can be trusted to start in your fantasy lineups. Donโ€™t fall into the trap. Please make sure Herndon is not in your starting lineup.

Dalton Schultz – Dallas Cowboys (TE8)

Call me crazy but Andy Dalton did not look like Dak on Monday Night Football. I feel that Dallas will ease up on the 54 pass attempts that Dalton took and rely more on Zeke. Add to the fact that even after 54 pass attempts, Schultz ended the day with single digit fantasy points.

Good luck in your Week 6 matchups! As always, please follow me @dynastydadmike. I love to talk football and always love to interact with the fantasy football community. I also love to talk about superheroes, movies, and pro wrestling. So, hit me up!
