Nerds! The Dynasty Nerds writers are here to provide you with weekly start/sit advice all season long. We will be making our recommendations based on weekly consensus PPR rankings. Here is the Week 13 Running Back Start/Sit from Running Back Nerd Mychal Warno.
One thing to keep in mind when making your Week 13 running back start/sit decisions; it will ALWAYS depend on who your other options are. Don’t take the players below out of (or put them into) your lineup unless the alternatives are worth it.

Week 13 Running Back Top 50 PPR Rankings by Mychal Warno
START | Week 13 Running Back Start/Sit
Bucky Irving | Tampa Bay Buccaneers | RB 18
Week 12 Stats | RB 4 | FPts 21.1 | Att 12 | Yds 87 | TD 1 | Tgts 6 | Confidence 90%
Bucky Irving has taken over as the lead back in the Tampa Bay offense. In Week 12, he outproduced Rachaad White on the ground, totaling 87 rushing yards and a touchdown. Irving’s day could have been better if he had not been tackled at the one-yard line twice.
In Week 13. Bucky gets the Carolina Panthers who have allowed the most fantasy points to running backs this year according to Fantasy Points Data Suite. The recent play of Bucky Irving and the juicy matchup against the Carolina Panthers have all the ingredients needed for a fantasy feast for your fantasy roster.
START | Week 13 Running Back Start/Sit
Chase Brown | Cincinnati Bengals | RB 13
Week 12 Stats | RB 10 | FPts 16.8 | Att 22 | Yds 86 | Tgts 7 | Confidence 60%
This will probably be the last time I can include Chase Brown in my articles, as he is becoming a must-start weekly. Since Week 9, Brown has been the RB5 in FPPG while averaging 22.8 FPPG. Chase Brown has become a clear bell cow running back, seeing over 20 rushing attempts in 2 of his last 3 games.
The Steelers are tough against the run but have allowed double-digit rushing touchdowns. Chase Brown should continue to finish as an RB1 this week as I have in my ranks as RB8.
START | Week 13 Running Back Start/Sit
Gus Edwards | Los Angeles Chargers | RB 36
Week 12 Stats | RB 31 | FPts 7.1 | Att 9 | Yds 11 | TD 1 | Tgts 1 | Confidence 60%
If you need a desperation flex, I would target Gus Edwards. J.K. Dobbins is expected to miss time with a knee sprain, leaving the bulk of the carries to go to Edwards. Atlanta’s defense has been weaker against running backs, allowing 9 players to have more than 15 fantasy points. I view Gus Edwards as more of an RB2 this week and would be comfortable starting him.
SIT | Week 13 Running Back Start/Sit
Rhamondre Stevenson | New England Patriots | RB 23
Week 12 Stats | RB 39 | FPts 3.3 | Att 8 | Yds 13 | Confidence 45%
Stevenson was rewarded with a massive $36-million contract extension this offseason, but he’s statistically on track for his worst season. Rhamondre has a career-low 3.7 yards per carry and is on pace for a career-low in receiving yards.
Rhamondre has failed to reach double-digit points in two of his last three games. In Week 13, Rhamondre also saw a season-low 42% snap share in a game that seemed to be over at halftime. With no teams on a bye, it would be wise to leave Rhamondre on your bench.
SIT | Week 13 Running Back Start/Sit
Nick Chubb | Cleveland Browns | RB 28
Week 12 Stats | RB 7 | FPts 19.0 | Att 20 | Yds 59 | TDs 2 | Tgts 1 | Confidence 45%
Nick Chubb is coming off his best game of the season where he scored two touchdowns and finished at the RB7. Unfortunately, Chubb has become a touchdown dependent running back. He is currently averaging a career-low 3.0 yards per touch.
As shown above through fellow Nerd writer Brad Custer Positional CheatChart, Chubb has a negative matchup against the Denver Broncos. The Broncos have allowed just five rushing touchdowns to RBs this season. Sit Nick Chubb.
SPOTLIGHT SIT | Week 13 Running Back Start/Sit
Najee Harris | Pittsburgh Steelers | RB19
Week 12 Stats | RB 30 | FPts 7.4 | Att 16 | Yds 41 | Tgts 2 | Confidence 50%
Since Pittsburgh’s bye week, Najee Harris has failed to reach more than 13.3 FPPG. During that time frame, Harris has averaged a 2.9 YPC average and only found the end zone one time.
Since the return of Jaylen Warren, Najee Harris’ productivity has dropped. The matchup against the Bengals is not a favorable one either. Since Week 7, the Bengals have held Saquon Barkley and Derrick Henry to under 15 fantasy points each. Sitting Harris could be the week-winning move.
