Advance Stat of the Week | EXP RUN %
This week’s advanced stat is EXP RUN % – the percentage of a running back’s rush attempts that gain 15+ yards. This metric is valuable for fantasy because it highlights explosiveness: backs who can rip off chunk plays every time they touch the ball. Importantly, this measures runs only, not receptions.
Through two games, among RBs with at least 15 carries, 6 of the top 12 in EXP RUN % are current RB1s. Notable names include Derrick Henry, Travis Etienne, and Bijan Robinson, all of whom have flashed big-play ability early in the season.
On the flip side, some RB1s don’t have a single 15+ yard run yet, such as Christian McCaffrey, Chuba Hubbard, and Jaylen Warren. With McCaffrey and Warren, this isn’t overly concerning given their heavy involvement in the passing game. Hubbard, however, is a more interesting case—his lack of explosiveness on the ground could make him a potential sell-high candidate if his receiving usage doesn’t increase.
Two RB1s stand out near the very top of the EXP RUN % leaderboard: Kenneth Walker (2nd) and Breece Hall (4th). Walker’s situation remains a bit tricky with Zach Charbonnet siphoning touches, but Hall looks like a strong buy-low target given his clear home-run rushing ability.

Josh Jacobsranks 21st in YBCO (yards before contact per attempt, min. 15 carries) and now faces a Browns defense allowing the fewest YBCO per attempt (-0.36). With little room to run, Jacobs likely needs a touchdown to stay fantasy relevant this week.

Josh Downs could be a sneaky Week 3 play, ranking 9th in win rate vs. zone (18.8%). He faces a Titans defense that uses zone coverage on 71.4% of snaps (14th-highest), giving him a matchup that fits his skill set.
T.J. Hockenson currently ranks 50th in TPRR (.17), but that could change with Carson Wentz under center. He faces the Bengals, who have allowed the fifth-most targets to tight ends this season.
