Hey Nerds! We’re heading into Week 3, and this is when fantasy managers can begin to separate legitimate trends from early-season overreactions. Two weeks of NFL action have given us a little more data to work with, but there are still plenty of players whose dynasty value doesn’t match their true long-term outlook. In this article, I’ll break down my Week 3 fantasy football trade advice and show you where fantasy managers can look to gain an advantage on the trade market with these buys and sells.

Players to Buy | Week 3 Fantasy Football Trade Advice
Justin Herbert | Quarterback | Los Angeles Chargers
On a recent episode of the Dynasty Nerds Podcast, Garret and Andrew had Justin Herbert as a buy, and I agree with them. Herbert’s cost is currently lower than normal, creating a buying opportunity. The Chargers offense has looked bad after 2 weeks. At 28 years old, Herbert is going to get this Mike McDaniel offense figured out. We also have the safety of Herbert knowing that his job is not in jeopardy, unlike we sometimes get with other quarterbacks during buying opportunities.
Garret stated that 2 random first-round picks could potentially get a deal done with the Herbert manager, which was not feasible at the start of the season. This is a buying opportunity for those middle-of-the-road teams or contending teams.
De’Zhaun Stribling | Wide Receiver | San Francisco 49ers
De’Zhaun Stribling is an interesting dynasty trade target because the injury has created a temporary discount. The 49ers placed the rookie wide receiver on injured reserve with an ankle injury, and he is expected to be sidelined until late November. Stribling was one of San Francisco’s most impressive players throughout training camp and was leading the 49ers in routes run before leaving his NFL debut with the injury. Stribling is a young foundational piece on an aging 49ers roster. Check the pulse of the Stribling manager, and you may be able to send a player who is producing immediately but aging.
Before you say not in my league, I know every league is different. However, here are some trades that caught my attention recently involving Stribling using the Trade Browser on the Dynasty Nerds App:
- DK Metcalf for De’Zhaun Stribling (12 team SFTEP)
- Quentin Johnston for De’Zhaun Stribling and a 2027 4th (12 team SFTEP)
- De’Zhaun Stribling for Davante Adams and 2028 2nd (12 team SFTEP)
Antonio Williams | Wide Receiver | Washington Commanders
The news to Jayden Daniels is unfortunate and ultimately hurts the entire Commanders offense. However, this may open up a buying opportunity for Antonio Williams. Williams was a player I was higher on than most in the industry during the pre-draft process. I saw a lot of Zay Flowers in his game, and so far in his limited playing time, Williams has impressed me. Williams’ snap % is under 50% through two games, but a path to an uptick in snaps might be near, as he is currently behind Stefon Diggs (32) and Terry McLaurin (31) as the Commanders’ WR3.
This offense won’t look as efficient with Marcus Mariota under center, and Williams is the type of player I’d target before his role potentially expands and his trade value catches up. I would look to spend a late-2027 second-round pick to get the deal done.
Players to Sell | Week 3 Dynasty Trade Advice
Travis Etienne Jr. | Running Back | New Orleans Saints
When Travis Etienne Jr. signed a 4-year, $48-million contract with the New Orleans Saints in March 2026, dynasty managers thought this would be the Alvin Kamara replacement. However, his usage over the past two weeks has been concerning. Etienne has just 17 carries for 71 yards and 9 receptions for 38 yards. More concerning is his workload in Week 2, when he played just 54.4% of the Saints’ offensive snaps and received only 38.5% of the team’s backfield opportunities, with Kamara returning to the lineup and CJ Donaldson also receiving a 29% share. Kamara also commanded a 26.5% target share in that game.
At 27 years old, Etienne doesn’t have the same workload as the younger backs managers can acquire with a strong return. I’m not saying Etienne can’t still produce, but this is exactly the type of situation where I want to capitalize on his previous production and perceived value before the market adjusts to his new reality.
Marvin Harrison Jr | Wide Receiver | Arizona Cardinals
It pains me to say this, but Marvin Harrison Jr. is a name I would be looking to move in dynasty leagues right now. I have held out as long as I can with Marv, and you might be stuck holding the bag. This isn’t about giving up on Harrison’s talent, but fantasy managers have to pay attention to what is actually happening on the field. Through two games, Harrison has just four targets, one reception, and 33 receiving yards, while Trey McBride has already commanded 23 targets, Kendrick Bourne has 11, and Michael Wilson has seen 14. Harrison currently owns only a 4.6% target share in the Cardinals’ offense.
If another manager still has hope for Harrison Jr., I would be testing the market. The days of getting a first-round pick for Harrison Jr. are long gone, probably even a 2028 or 2029 1st-round pick, but you don’t know until you try. Harrison is still only 24, so I’m not saying his career is over, but it does look bleak in Arizona. A change of scenery would be good for Harrison’s future NFL career and for your dynasty team.
Deebo Samuel | Wide Receiver | San Francisco 49ers
Deebo Samuel is a player I would be looking to move in dynasty leagues while his value is still holding strong. Samuel returned to San Francisco this offseason after spending 2025 in Washington, and through 2 games, he has caught 9-of-11 targets for 79 yards and a touchdown, adding 16 rushing yards. The production is respectable, but dynasty managers need to remember that Samuel is now 30 years old with a history of injury concerns.
I’m not saying Samuel can’t help a contender this season, but that’s exactly why I would be testing the trade market now. I’d look to turn him into a younger wideout, maybe Antonio Williams, and add a future third-round pick to the deal with Deebo. Samuel can still provide useful production, but I’d rather cash in on the remaining name value than hold an aging receiver until his role and trade value decline.
