Dynasty Stock Watch

Carnell Tate | WR | Trending Up

Carnell Tate started his NFL career slowly but has seen his production take off over the last two weeks. Tate has earned a 31% target share and an impressive 40.5% first-read rate during that stretch, while ranking 11th in TPRR and 10th in YPRR. The Titans are clearly making Tate a focal point of their passing attack, and their 0-4 record should continue forcing them into pass-heavy game scripts. For dynasty managers, this could be the last opportunity to buy Tate before his value skyrockets, especially with upcoming matchups against Houston, Indianapolis, and Cleveland. Another few strong performances could make Tate nearly impossible to acquire, so I would look to buy now before his dynasty price climbs even higher.

Saqoun Barkley | RB | Trending Down

No big-name running back may see his dynasty value fall more than Saquon Barkley, who has failed to score over 10 fantasy points in any game this season. Despite his struggles, Barkley ranks inside the top 15 among starting running backs in missed tackles forced per attempt (0.22) and yards before contact (3.06), showing he can still run efficiently. His biggest concerns are his lingering hamstring injury and lack of receiving production, with just 4 catches for 8 yards. With the Eagles’ offense struggling, dynasty managers may want to sell, but I would hold Barkley through his favorable Weeks 6-9 schedule and look to sell if he rebounds. Contenders should consider buying low if his manager panics, potentially offering Emanuel Wilson plus a draft pick to acquire a risky running back who still has upside.

Week 5 Fantasy Football Injury Updates

While you should check out our Week 5 tiers and Start/Sit rankings for the full slate, here are the most important fantasy updates for players who were ruled out following Friday’s final practice reports.

Kyle Monangai | CHI | RB

Bears backup running back Kyle Monangai will miss Week 5 after a dominant performance in Week 4. Monangai is dealing with a toe injury that will keep him out for Week 5 and potentially Week 6. As long as D’Andre Swift is good to go, he should be viewed as a borderline RB1 in a favorable matchup against Green Bay. Roschon Johnson should also be picked up off dynasty waiver wires if he’s available, as he could see an increased role in Monangai’s absence.

Devonta Smith & Saquon Barkley | PHI | WR/RB

The Eagles will be without two key offensive starters as they head to London to face the Jaguars. At running back, Will Shipley could be considered a desperation option in PPR leagues, as Jacksonville has allowed a high number of receptions to opposing running backs. Dameon Pierce should also be picked up as a potential bench stash in dynasty leagues.

The wide receivers will have a tough matchup against a strong Jaguars secondary. I’d lean toward Dontayvion Wicks over Makai Lemon if you need a desperation FLEX option. Dallas Goedert is returning this week and could end up being the top pass catcher in this offense, making him a top-12 tight end option for Week 5.

Lamar Jackson | BAL | QB

Quarterback Lamar Jackson will miss the game against the Falcons, with Tyler Huntley getting the start. I’d downgrade the Ravens’ offense as a whole. Zay Flowers becomes more of a borderline WR1 this week, as Huntley has never shown elite passing volume throughout his career. Derrick Henry may see more touches this week, but if the offense becomes one-dimensional, the Falcons have a strong run defense that could limit his production. Both players remain starting options, but I’d downgrade expectations for Week 5.

Stefon Diggs | WAS | WR

Veteran receiver Stefon Diggs will miss the Week 5 game against the Giants. With Diggs out, I’d look toward Antonio Williams as a possible sleeper this week. Williams will likely step into a more full-time role in the slot with Diggs sidelined. Jayden Daniels was targeting the slot frequently in his healthy games this season, with both Diggs and Williams benefiting. Now, with the veteran out, Williams moves into the conversation as a deep FLEX option, while Terry McLaurin remains a borderline WR2 play for Week 5.

Ryan Coleman-Williams  | WR | Alabama

Vs Georgia | 12:00p | Saturday, Oct. 10th

Ryan Coleman-Williams has been solid over his last three games and has managed to find the end zone during that stretch. Now, Williams faces a top-five team in Georgia this weekend. Georgia’s secondary has the highest grade in the nation at 92.5. The last time Williams faced Georgia, he struggled, finishing with just 2 receptions for 33 yards in a loss, but he had success in games prior to that matchup.

Williams could use a big performance to boost his draft stock, which has been surpassed by other prospects who have broken out this season. We want to see him be physical at the catch point against this secondary. Hopefully, he won’t have to wear a knee brace like he did last week, allowing us to see him at full speed against an elite secondary.

Josh Hoover | QB | Indiana

@ Nebraska | 12:00p | Saturday, Oct. 10th

Quarterback Josh Hoover is coming into his own this season and thriving in Indiana’s offense. This weekend will be his first true test of the season as he faces undefeated Nebraska. The Cornhuskers’ pass defense currently ranks fifth in the nation, allowing just 165.2 passing yards per game. While Nebraska is not currently ranked, this is the most talented roster Hoover will have faced to date. It will also be his first road game with Indiana, making the environment another challenge to overcome.

What we want to see from Hoover is his ability to continue limiting turnovers while maintaining a high passing volume against a tough defense. We also want to see him make big plays downfield by taking advantage of his elite receiving weapons. This should be an interesting matchup for the Indiana quarterback as he looks to prove himself against stronger competition.

Wayne Knight | RB | UCLA

@ Oregon | 3:30p | Saturday, Oct. 10th

UCLA running back Wayne Knight has been great this season with over 70 rushing yards in each game this season. He has been a touchdown machine 9 through his 4 games played this year. Fresh off a bye week, he faces 13th ranked Oregon allowing a 3.59 YPC which ranks top 30 in the nation. This is Knight’s first big test of the season against a top ranked team. We want to see Knight continue his high efficiency, while likely being needed to carry a big workload against a tough front seven. But we also want to see him create more yards after contact in this matchup. The offensive line may struggle to get running lanes for Knight this week, but he’ll have a chance to get his name among the top 10 running backs for the 2027 Draft.

Week 5 Dynasty Storylines

Can Kyren Williams continue his dominant stretch?

The veteran running back is having a great season so far with the Rams, but can he keep it up and turn this into a historic season? Looking back at his numbers from this year compared to last year, he’s seeing nearly the same number of touches early in the season but has been much more efficient with his opportunities. He’s producing more yards and touchdowns, while his increased involvement in the passing game has made an even bigger difference in his fantasy production.

Year Touches Yards TD FPs
2025 76 355 2 49.5
2026 75 467 4 79.2

The biggest factor has to be the reception totals, but that production won’t be sustainable long term. Matthew Stafford has thrown 50 or more passes in back-to-back games, but if he gets back to his usual range of around 30 attempts, Kyren Williams’ receiving role could drop from the elite upside we’ve seen over the last two weeks to more of a solid RB2 level. The passing offense will continue to run through Puka Nacua and Davante Adams, so Williams averaging eight receptions over the last two games isn’t something we should expect to continue.

While Blake Corum has been an afterthought this season, he has run the ball well, averaging 4.92 yards per carry. Let’s not forget that Williams dominated the touches over Corum in the first half of last season, but the workload became more balanced in the second half as the Rams wanted Williams fresh for the playoffs. I could see that happening again this year. We may get a few more elite performances from Williams, but I wouldn’t expect him to maintain this pace for a historic season over 17 games.

Michael Wilson Coming into his Own or more Fools Gold?

At 26 years old, Michael Wilson is entering his prime and has outperformed former top pick Marvin Harrison Jr. as Arizona’s WR1 since Week 11 last season. Over that stretch, Wilson has produced at a 17-game pace of 1,400 receiving yards and 10 touchdowns. His advanced stats support the breakout, ranking seventh in first-read percentage while posting above-average YPRR and an elite TPRR, showing how frequently Arizona is targeting him. With Wilson signing a three-year contract worth up to $75 million and rumors surrounding Harrison’s future, it appears Wilson is here to stay as a focal point of this offense.

Wilson may be one of those rare late bloomers who continues producing well into his late 20s and early 30s. Remember Tyler Lockett? He enjoyed six strong seasons later in his career, and Wilson could follow a similar path. I would love to acquire Wilson in dynasty leagues right now, but I would prefer using other players in a trade rather than draft picks. His value likely falls somewhere between a 2027 first- and second-round pick, making it difficult to find the right draft capital to offer. Wilson is clearly coming into his own, and I believe his dynasty value could continue climbing.
