Hey Nerds! The NFL season is heating up with our Week 5 Fantasy Football Trade Advice as dynasty and redraft pretenders and contenders start to separate themselves from the pack. Injuries to superstars like Joe Burrow and Tyreek Hill, as well as breakout performances from Woody Marks and Emeka Egbuka, have changed the landscape of 2025 fantasy football.

Mychal’s Week 5 Waiver Wire covers your deep dynasty adds—see if you should start them this week with our Advanced Stats Matchup Guide!

In my Week 4 Trade Advice, I advised to trade for Woody Marks and said that I would pay “a third, or even a second if needed” to get the deal done. After Marks’ 23.9 breakout performance, those prices are no longer the market value. Don’t let that happen again this week; trade for or trade away these players in Week 5 before their value changes.

Brian Thomas | WR | Jaguars | Top Trade Target of The Week

I understand the hesitancy in trading for Brian Thomas. He has yet to accumulate double-digit fantasy points in any game this season, but there are some encouraging signs moving forward. First, Thomas has received at least six targets in every game and has had two double-digit target performances, even with the poor play of Trevor Lawrence. On a recent episode of the Dynasty Nerds podcast, Rich Dotson spoke in depth about Brian Thomas. Offensive Coordinator Shane Waldron has shown this in the past with top wide receivers in his offense, such as: Jaxon Smith-Njigba and Garrett Wilson who have since thrived after Waldron’s departure. If the Thomas manager is panicking, I would package my 2026 1st and a wide receiver in return for “BTJ.”

Darius Slayton | WR | Giants | Week 5 Low-Cost Wide Receiver Trade Advice

Was your team wrecked by injuries this week and you need a low-cost wide receiver option? Look no further than Darius Slayton. With Malik Nabers missing the entire season, New York needs a go-to receiving option. In the 2 games Nabers missed in 2024, Slayton recorded 14 catches for 179 yards and a touchdown on 22 targets. Check your waiver wire first, as Slayton (48% share) may be available; otherwise, a 2026 3rd round pick or 4th round pick should get the deal done.

Malik Washington | WR | Dolphins | Week 5 Wide Receiver Trade For Contenders or Rebuilders

If you have read any of my articles over the past year, you would know my love for Malik Washington. Hopefully, Washington is already on your rosters from my advice. However, if he’s not, it is now his time in Miami after a gruesome injury to Tyreek Hill on Monday Night Football. Malik Washington possesses some of the same shiftiness and has a knack for creating yards after the catch. Washington is a perfect trade target for both contenders and teams in a rebuild.

Hunter Henry | TE | Patriots | Week 5 Trade Advice for Contenders

Hunter Henry is quietly the overall TE1 in fantasy going into Week 5. Henry leads the teams in targets (24) and touchdowns (3). Henry and Drake Maye have developed a good rapport as he seems to be Maye’s safety valve. Using the Dynasty Nerds App, Henry’s current value is a 2026 2nd-round pick, and if you are a contending team needing help at tight end, I have no issues at all with paying that price.

Kyler Murray | QB | Cardinals | Week 5 Quarterback Trade Away Rebuilding Advice

Kyler Murray is in his 7th NFL season and has yet to pass for 4,000 yards in a lone year. Murray has not been able to establish the chemistry that we all hoped for with Marvin Harrison Jr. and has been unable to regain his 2020 form, in which he finished as the QB3. However, Murray still carries significant trade value. Murray is more of a high-end QB2 but still holds value as a low-end QB1. Using our Dynasty Nerds App, Kyler Murray holds similar value to Jaxson Dart, TreVeyon Henderson, and Quinshon Judkins, who are all players that I would rather have, especially if I were in a rebuild.

Chase Brown | RB | Bengals | Week 5 Running Back Trade Away Advice

Chase Brown has yet to rush for at least 50 yards in any game this season. According to Sharp Football Analysis, the Bengals’ offensive line ranks second-worst, behind only the Las Vegas Raiders, with an average of 0.2 yards before contact per rush and a pressure rate of 44.9%. Cincinnati will have to make significant changes to this offense in the offseason, and I would not be surprised if those changes also affect the running back room. Given his pass-catching ability, I think the trade market for him could be two future 2nd round picks.

D.J. Moore | WR | Bears | Week 5 Wide Receiver Trade Away Rebuilding Teams

Going into the 2025 NFL season, fantasy players were excited about Ben Johnson and what he could bring to the Chicago Bears offense. While Rome Odunze has thrived under Johnson’s watch, D.J. Moore has regressed significantly statistically. Moore has been unable to gain any chemistry with Caleb Williams and is currently being out-targeted by Olamide Zaccheaus. Rebuilding teams need to move on from Moore and may have to package a draft pick to upgrade at the position, as a player-for-player swap may be unlikely right now.

Week 5 Fantasy Football Trade Advice | FAQ

Q: Who is the top trade target in Week 5 fantasy football?
A: Brian Thomas of the Jaguars is the top buy-low trade target due to strong usage despite low fantasy production.

Q: Should I trade for Hunter Henry in Week 5?
A: Yes, Henry is currently the TE1 and has strong chemistry with Drake Maye. He’s worth a 2026 2nd if you’re contending.

Q: Is Kyler Murray a sell-high candidate in dynasty?
A: Yes, Murray has not lived up to QB1 expectations and is better moved in rebuilds for younger assets like Dart, Henderson, or Judkins.

Q: What is Chase Brown’s dynasty trade value?
A: Chase Brown can fetch about two future 2nd-round picks, but his poor rushing efficiency makes him a trade-away candidate.

Q: Should rebuilding teams move on from D.J. Moore?
A: Yes, Moore has struggled in the Bears’ offense with Caleb Williams, making him a sell candidate for future draft capital.

Q: How can I use handcuffs to protect my dynasty roster?
A: Always stash RB handcuffs to protect against injuries and create leverage in trades. Players like Marks and Henderson become league-winners when starters go down.

Q: What’s the best dynasty strategy for managing bye weeks?
A: Use bye weeks to test your depth. Trade from positions of strength to cover injuries and maintain playoff positioning.
