What is the Nerd Score?
The Nerd Score is Dynasty Nerds' proprietary film-based prospect grading system. Every dynasty-relevant WR and RB prospect is evaluated across 12 position-specific skill categories by our scouting team using All-22 college film.
Two composite scores are generated for each prospect:
- NerdScore — Raw film grade (average of 12 skill grades)
- NerdScore+ — Weighted composite that emphasizes the skills most predictive of NFL dynasty success

NerdScore (Film Score)
The NerdScore is a straight average of 12 position-specific skill grades, each scored on a 0–100 scale from All-22 college film evaluation.
WR Skills (12)
Release, Route Running, Hands, Contested Catch, Catch Radius, Body Control, Physicality, Ball Tracking, YAC, Game Speed, Burst, Quickness
RB Skills (12)
Vision, Patience, Elusiveness, Break Tackle, Game Speed, Burst/Acceleration, Quickness, Contact Balance, Pad Level, Physicality/Power, Receiving, Pass Pro
Each skill is graded by our scouting team using the same 0–100 scale, making grades directly comparable across players and positions.
NerdScore+
NerdScore+ is a weighted version of the NerdScore that places more emphasis on the skills most predictive of NFL dynasty fantasy success.
For WRs, route running and hands carry more weight than physicality. For RBs, vision and elusiveness are weighted higher than pass protection.
NerdScore+ is generally considered the better predictor of dynasty value because it accounts for which skills translate most to fantasy production at the NFL level.
When to use NerdScore vs NerdScore+:
- NerdScore — Best for evaluating overall football talent and ceiling
- NerdScore+ — Best for predicting dynasty fantasy football value
