Week 7 Advance Player Stat of the Week | Win Rate vs Coverage
What It Measures: Win Rate Coverage tracks the percentage of routes in which a pass catcher (WR or TE) creates positive separation against man or zone coverage. It’s a valuable metric that quantifies a receiver’s ability to “win” their route—essentially, how often they’re open when the quarterback looks their way.
Win Rate Coverage isn’t a headline stat like targets or air yards, but it’s a difference-maker in tough lineup calls.
When deciding between two similar receivers:
Check their win rate vs the type of coverage they’ll likely face.
Cross-reference with the defensive coverage tendencies of their opponent.
For example, if Davante Adams (top-5 in Win Rate vs Zone) is facing a defense that plays mostly zone, he could have a more favorable outlook than someone like Brian Thomas Jr., who has struggled against zone-heavy looks.
Think of Win Rate as the “hidden tiebreaker” that can reveal who’s more likely to create separation—and therefore, opportunity.

Man Coverage Win Rate: Among the top 12 fantasy wideouts, five rank inside the top 10 in Win Rate vs Man Coverage. A rate above 20% is considered elite, and 13 receivers currently meet or exceed that threshold. Notable names include Puka Nacua, George Pickens, and Ja’Marr Chase, all sitting at 26% or higher.
Keep in mind, man coverage frequency varies heavily by opponent, so smaller samples can lead to more fluctuation in this number. Still, receivers who maintain high success against man tend to have strong week-to-week floors—especially when facing aggressive, single-coverage defenses.
Zone Coverage Win Rate: Zone coverage tells a different story. Volume of routes run becomes the major variable, as more total routes increase the opportunity (and denominator) in this percentage.
A surprise name near the top is Jaxon Smith-Njigba, who currently ranks 2nd in the league in Win Rate vs Zone Coverage. Interestingly, 10 of the top 12 fantasy WRs rank 37th or better in zone win rate—showing that elite fantasy output often correlates with success in beating zone. The only exceptions? Amon-Ra St. Brown and Garrett Wilson, who’ve thrived through volume and red-zone usage rather than efficiency vs zone.

Jaylen Warren/Kenneth Gainwell: could see a boost in efficiency in week 7 as the Bengals allow the 3rd most YBCO with 2.13. Something both running backs have struggled with this year.
Chase Brown: We could see a positive game for Chase Brown on this short week, as the Steelers have allowed five or more receptions to running backs in back-to-back games.
