Top 10 Dynasty Football Takeaways from Week 10

After Week 10, @SteveBradshawFF breaks down the top ten dynasty takeaways!

Week 10 of the NFL season is officially over, so we have some new information to analyze. Let’s dive right into the Top 10 dynasty football takeaways from week 10.

Takeaway #1: T. J. Hockenson Is the TE1

Hockenson is and has been my TE1 in dynasty for quite some time. There’s an argument to be made for Sam LaPorta and Travis Kelce, but there are caveats with both players. However, Hockenson has the perfect combination of age and production.

I feel great about this ranking after seeing Hockenson score 30 points with Josh Dobbs. Although Justin Jefferson will still be the number one option in this offense, Hockenson showed he’s elite at finding the soft spots in the defense and running routes like a receiver.

#2: Chris Olave Is Free!

All it took was a Derek Carr injury to unlock Olave. After Carr went down, Jameis Winston stepped in and peppered Olave with targets. Olave finished the game with six catches, 94 yards, and a touchdown.

Winston isn’t the long-term answer for the Saints, but this confirms Olave isn’t the problem. Olave has been getting open and drawing targets; he needs someone to get him the ball.

#3: CJ Stroud Continues to Rise

Stroud has led the Texans on a game-winning drive for the second week in a row. After completely turning around the Texans, there’s even talk about Stroud entering the MVP conversation. While this is a little too much for me, I totally agree that he looks like a franchise quarterback.

According to KeepTradeCut, Stroud has an ADP of seven, good for the QB5. This is a little too much for me, as I would still rather have Justin Herbert and a proven stud in Lamar Jackson.

#4: Will Levis Has Another Rough Performance

Levis took the NFL by storm in his first game, boasting a 26.62-point performance. However, Levis has scored 14.64 points in his last two games since then. I wasn’t too worried about his 8.68-point game against the Steelers, but scoring 5.96 points against the Buccaneers is concerning.

If Levis keeps playing like this, he’s not guaranteed to be the long-term starter. Since Levis was selected 33rd overall in the NFL draft, he doesn’t have the job security to keep him afloat through an extended rough patch. The upside remains, but Levis is a highly volatile dynasty asset.

#5: Kyler Murray Is Back

After tearing his ACL 11 months ago, Murray made his first start of the year. Many expected Murray to have a slow start, but he came out and scored 17.26 points in his first game back.

If you were hoping to buy low on Murray, it’s too late. Murray is severely underrated and gets a bad rep because of his video game controversy. Now that Murray is back on the field, he’s being viewed as a low-end QB1 (QB11), according to KTC.

#6: Rachaad White Is on Fire!

Coming into the year, I was extremely high on White. Seeing how good White was with no Leonard Fournette made me extremely excited for his future outlook especially after the Buccaneers made it clear that White would be the bellcow.

That said, after a slow start to the year, I was beginning to have my doubts. White still has been inefficient on the ground, but he’s a fantastic pass catcher. Since week seven, White has been the RB6 on a PPG basis. White may not be a great runner, but his pass-catching ability will make him fantasy-relevant for years to come.

#7: Even with David Montgomery, Jahmyr Gibbs Crushes

With Montgomery returning from his injury, the expectations for Gibbs went down. However, Gibbs out-snapped Montgomery 38 to 25 to fuel his 26.2-point game.

Take this with a grain of salt, but this confirms that Gibbs isn’t a bust. The talent is there, and it’s been on full display ever since Montgomery went down. Gibbs will never be a bellcow back, but he’s efficient enough to be great in fantasy.

#8: Trey McBride Is Legit

With Zach Ertz sidelined, McBride has dominated. Since week eight, McBride is averaging 15.4 PPG. McBride is the long-term answer and will end up replacing 33-year-old Ertz.

Many people quickly forget that McBride was the TE1 in the 2022 draft class. McBride was selected in the second round but was forgotten about because he wasn’t a day-one starter. The talent and draft capital is there for McBride to be a phenomenal dynasty tight end.

#9: Marvin Harrison Jr. Makes a Push for the 1.01

Harrison continues to improve his draft stock with a monster three-touchdown performance against Michigan State. So far, in 10 games, Harrison Jr. has 59 catches, 1,063 receiving yards and 12 touchdowns. The son of Marvin Harrison is generational, and I’m not using the word lightly.

Caleb Williams has been on the decline, but it’s still not probable for him to drop out of the 1.01 slot in a superflex format. Harrison Jr. looks like such a sure thing and is starting to enter the 1.01 conversation.

#10: Michael Penix Jr. Is Being Slept On

Bo Nix has taken over as the Heisman favorite and Penix is officially being slept on. The hype is there for guys like JJ McCarthy, Nix, and even Jayden Daniels, but no one has been talking about Penix.

Penix has been playing very well recently, and at this point, he’s almost a lock to go in the first round of the NFL draft. The injury issues are a concern, but with every game that passes by, I feel more comfortable that Penix will be able to stay healthy. No matter how you feel about Penix, there’s no way he should be going outside of the first round in superflex rookie drafts.
