This entry is part 22 of 22 in the series Dynasty Nerds | Keep Trade Cut

In dynasty fantasy football, every roster spot matters when building toward a championship. As we head into Week 7, knowing when to keep, trade, or cut a player can make a significant difference in both your short-term success and long-term roster value. In this article, we break down players worth holding onto, veterans you should consider trading while they still carry dynasty value, and roster cloggers you can move on from to make room for younger players with more upside. Dynasty championships aren’t just about identifying talent—they’re about maximizing value, making calculated decisions, and knowing when it’s time to move on.

Please note that this article is focused toward 12-team leagues with 28-man rosters.

Keep | Omarion Hampton | Week 7 Fantasy Football

Trust me, I am frustrated with Omarion Hampton just like you, but now is not the time to sell low. I understand the concerns surrounding Kimani Vidal’s emergence and Keaton Mitchell’s involvement, but I’m not willing to sell a young running back with first-round draft capital simply because his early-season workload hasn’t met expectations. In 2025, Hampton posted top-21-or-better finishes in 6 of his 9 games played during his rookie season.

The Los Angeles Chargers’ offense is a mess, and this coaching staff appears to be in for a dramatic overhaul. Hampton is only 23 years old, and 6 games are not enough for me to abandon his long-term upside. If I can’t get a return that reflects Hampton’s long-term potential, I’m holding and waiting for his role and production to improve

Keep | Germie Bernard | Week 7 Keep Trade Cut

Germie Bernard is a hold for me in dynasty, and I’m not looking to sell just because his production is starting to climb. The 22 year old rookie wide receiver has recorded 24 receptions for 227 yards and one touchdown on 32 targets through six games, including back-to-back strong performances with 6 receptions for 80 yards against Indianapolis and 11 receptions for 87 yards and a touchdown against Tampa Bay.

While the recent production is promising, Bernard is still building his role in Pittsburgh’s offense, and his 11.5% season target share suggests there is room for growth. Let us not forget that Bernard came with second-round draft capital, so Pittsburgh has plans with Bernard to be heavily involved in this offense.

I understand the urge to sell after a breakout performance, but I’m not interested in cashing out before I see what Bernard’s role looks like over a larger sample. I’d rather hold Bernard and let his dynasty value continue to rise, as I believe we haven’t seen his ceiling yet, and it would take a blow-me-away offer for me to consider moving him now.

Trade | Jacoby Brissett | Week 7 Fantasy Football

The window to sell Jacoby Brissett is starting to close, and I’m looking to move him while he still has dynasty value. Brissett has finished as a top 24 quarterback in 4 of his 6 starts and has 2 top 10 finishes.Unfortunately, the Arizona Cardinals are sitting at 2-4 and Brissett’s grip on the starting job is becoming increasingly questionable.

If those losses continue to pile up, the Cardinals are going to want to see what they have in rookie Carson Beck, whom they selected in the third round of the 2026 NFL Draft. At 33 years old and approaching free agency, Brissett is clearly not the long term answer in Arizona. Capitalize on his current fantasy production and trade him to a quarterback-needy Superflex contender for a future third-round pick or a younger unproven asset, now before watching his value disappear when Beck takes over.

Trade | Courtland Sutton | Week 7 Keep Trade Cut

Another player I am looking to sell is Courtland Sutton. At 31 years old, Sutton is struggling to remain a consistent part of Denver’s passing attack despite playing a significant number of snaps. His 78% season snap share shows that he is still getting opportunities on the field, but that high snap share hasn’t amounted into production. Sutton has failed to reach 50 yards receiving in any game this year, and has just 123 receiving yards on 13 receptions.

In my dynasty rankings, I have Sutton as my WR65. I would be comfortable moving him for a younger, unproven wide receiver like Ja’Kobi Lane.

Cut | Tutu Atwell | Week 7 Fantasy Football

Now it’s time to trim the fat of your dynasty teams. Tutu Atwell is  a player that I am comfortable cutting from my dynasty team. Even though Atwell is tied to a high scoring offense, the Los Angeles Rams offense is very concentrated. Atwell has recorded just 3 receptions for 31 yards on 4 targets, with zero touchdowns and an average of only 10.3 receiving yards per game.

I understand the urge to hold onto Atwell, with Davante Adams being out for the next 6-10 weeks with a hamstring injury and the expectancy to see an uptick in targets. However, like I mentioned earlier, the Rams offense is highly concentrated, and I expect the biggest beneficiaries of Adams’ injury to be the tight ends, Jordan Whittington and Konata Mumpfield. Atwell is 27 years old; he is no longer a young developmental prospect worth holding. Use his roster spot to pick up Mumpfield, Whittington, or even rookie CJ Daniels.

Cut | Chris Brooks | Week 7 Keep Trade Cut

Another name that I am comfortable cutting from my dynasty roster is Chris Brooks. Brooks’ biggest problem is the crowded Packers backfield and being placed on injured reserve with an ankle injury on October 10, meaning he must miss at least four games and is not eligible to return until at least Week 9. With Josh Jacobs expected to return in Week 7 after being removed from the commissioner’s exempt list, Brooks faces an uphill battle for snaps once he is healthy behind MarShawn Lloyd and Kaleb Johnson, and Pierre Strong Jr.

In deep dynasty leagues, I’d rather use my roster spot on a younger running back with a clearer path to touches.
