The dust appears to be settling in the IDP world. Players have found their place on their teams. Here are some players seeing a significant increase in playing time who might be viable additions to your dynasty rosters!

Defensive Line

Randy Gregory, DEN

Week 2 Stats: 43 snaps (68%), 19 pts

Denver seems to be finding their identity on defense, despite having some significant injuries. Gregory came over in the offseason and is the clear starting pass rusher opposite Bradley Chubb. Gregory hit 68% snap share on Sunday and had a sack and a forced fumble. This Sunday night, he’ll be a decent streaming option against Jimmy G and the 49ers.

Zach Allen, ARI

Week 2 Stats: 56 snaps (84%), 8 pts

While Allen hasn’t registered a sack yet this season, he’s a solid streaming candidate after posting 80%+ snaps in the first two weeks. In deeper leagues, he’s worth a $0 bid on waivers if you have the room.

Uchenna Nwosu, SEA

Week 2 Stats: 55 snaps (72%), 13 pts

After a solid week one performance against Denver, Uwosu posted another decent box score against the Niners. He has another solid matchup against Mariota and the Falcons at home. I’m honestly willing to fire him up as a DL2 this week.

(Honorable Mention) Trevis Gipson, CHI

Week 2 Stats: 23 snaps (34%), 25 pts

While his snap share isn’t what you want from a pass rusher, the fact that he was able to notch two sacks is nothing to ignore. With two favorable matchups upcoming (HOU and NYG), Gipson has solid streaming potential, and hopefully, he’ll see more snaps.

Linebackers

Frankie Luvu, CAR

Week 2 Stats: 70 snaps (96%), 31 pts

It might be too late to snag him if your league mates have been paying attention. Luvu wore the “green dot” for the second straight week and played 96% of the Panthers’ defensive snaps. He had ten tackles (all solo), three TFLs, and a PD. If you’re looking to bolster your linebacker corps, Luvu should be someone you’re targeting on the waivers, and I’d even be willing to drop 5-10% of your budget on him, depending on the league.

Zaire Franklin, IND

Week 2 Stats: 71 snaps (100%), 20 pts

I’m leaving Franklin on this list because I personally didn’t see him acquired in enough leagues. I was on the E.J. Speed bandwagon, who has some “flex appeal” with high efficiency but isn’t seeing the snap share that Franklin is. If Leonard continues to miss time, Franklin will be rosterable and startable. He has a high tackle floor, which is what you want from a starting linebacker.

Jaylon Smith, NYG

Here we go with some chaos! Smith has been signed to the Giants after spending some time there last season. This may indicate that their replacement for Blake Martinez isn’t working out, or they may need to add depth on a defense on the field quite a bit. Walk, DON’T RUN, to your waivers to throw out a low-ball bid on Smith, and see if you can acquire him for 1-3% of your FAAB.

Defensive Backs

Jonathan Owens, HOU

Week 2 Stats: 72 snaps (100%), 16 pts

While every IDP Dynasty Manager is fawning over rookie Jalen Pitre, Owens has been quietly putting together a solid start to the 2022 season. He’s posted back-to-back double-digit tackles and has Chicago on the docket. He’s still available in most leagues, and I’m willing to drop 5-10% of my waiver budget if you’re looking to replace someone like Jamal Adams or Justin Simmons.

Caden Sterns, DEN

Week 2 Stats: 63 snaps (100%), 11 pts

Speaking of Justin Simmons, he recently went on IR with a quad injury, and second-year safety Caden Sterns stepped into the starting lineup. Last season, Sterns showed he could flash when given a chance. He made several impact plays despite playing very few snaps. Simmons is gone for at least another three weeks, so adding Sterns might be a viable option as a replacement for Simmons. You’ll probably be able to acquire him for a minimal bid.

Darrick Forrest, WAS

Week 2 Stats: 61 snaps (100%), 18 pts

Kamren Curl was close to returning from his thumb injury but couldn’t suit up. Forrest has shown that if he’s still unavailable this week, he can be a solid backup and could see increased playing time when Curl returns. Washington has been known to be a conundrum at the safety position for a couple of years.
