Week Two Takeaways: The Critical In The AFC East

Week Two is in the books for the AFC East! We must focus on the top takeaways now that we have film and statistics to study. No longer can we rest on our offseason takes of who will succeed and who will fail. We now have an entire two weeks of NFL football to study. We can lead our team to a fantasy football title by focusing on weekly top takeaways! The fantasy season will move quickly, and in a dynasty, it is essential to acquire players before they break out or unload players before they falter.

Garrett Wilson Is That Dude

Wilson returned to the state where he was a college football superstar and reminded the people of Ohio why they loved him so much. The former Ohio State Buckeye dominated Sunday’s win against the Cleveland Browns. He was able to rack up eight receptions on a team-high 14 targets. That stat line also included the eventual game-winning touchdown, his second of the day. Wilson showed precisely why he deserved to be a top-ten pick in the 2022 NFL Draft.

Tua Proving The Doubters Wrong

The Miami Dolphins spent enormous money and draft capital placing weapons around third-year quarterback Tua Tagoviloa this offseason. They traded a first-round pick plus on speedster Tyreek Hill. They also spent top dollar bringing in left tackle Terron Armstead and running back Chase Edmonds. Tua stepped up on Sunday to show that he might be worth the title of a franchise quarterback. The Dolphins entered the fourth quarter against the Baltimore Ravens down 35 – 14. Tua put together a fantastic comeback and put up 28 fourth-quarter points. He had five touchdowns on the day, which was good enough to tie a Dolphins franchise record.

A Leader Emerges In New England?

Last week we discussed how the Patriots backfield was a muddy mess that was best avoided. This week that tune may be changing as it seems like a leader may be emerging. Damien Harris handled most of the team’s carries, just under half of them. He also accounted for the team’s sole rushing touchdown in a 17 – 14 victory over the Pittsburgh Steelers. This production must be taken with a grain of salt because it can easily be the reverse situation next week. If Harris is not needed for your starting lineup, it may be an excellent time to sell high.

Stefon Diggs Top Dog

The Josh Allen and Diggs connection has left right where it began. Through two weeks of football, Diggs is the WR1 overall. He had a monster game on Monday Night Football, where he accumulated 148 yards on 12 catches. He also added three touchdowns on a team-high 14 targets. This follows up a Week One performance where he broke 100 yards and found the endzone. Monday night’s game was without Gabriel Davis, which might have something to do with the 14 targets. The Bills get a Week Three AFC East matchup against the Miami Dolphins, who just allowed 108 yards and a score to Rashod Bateman of the Baltimore Ravens. Diggs is looking like a league winner once again.

Information is the most powerful tool any dynasty fantasy football manager possesses. If you can stay on top of the correct information more than your league-mates, you will come out on top. Many key fantasy players call the AFC East home. Be sure to check back with us, as we will be breaking down takeaways from every division this week. And be sure to come back next week, as we will be doing the same for all 18 weeks of the 2022 NFL season!
