That’s Going to Leave a Mark – Week 11 Injury Report

Check out the Week 11 injury report with @johnnybgoodeFF, who provides analysis on long and short term outlook on injuries sustained during last week's matchups!

Justin Fields – Left Shoulder Separation, Week-to-Week

This was feared to be more of a dislocation (Dalvin Cook injury) but was confirmed to be a shoulder separation. This occurs at the AC joint. For Fields, it comes down to pain tolerance with throwing the football. This is best case scenario for Justin Fields, and fantasy managers can breathe a sigh of relief.

Matthew Stafford – Concussion, 1 Week

Stafford was confirmed out this week, giving him time to progress through the concussion protocol. Expect him back for Week 13

Clyde Edwards-Helaire – High Ankle Sprain, 4-6 Weeks

Edwards-Helaire wasn’t doing much prior to his high ankle sprain. He seemed to fall out of favor in Kansas City. Running backs who return from a high ankle sprain typically underperform the rest of the season. Hard to say what that means for CEH, given his under-performance so far. I expect KC to make new plans at running back this offseason.

Chase Edmonds – High Ankle Sprain, 4-6 weeks

Edmonds got what appeared to be a new opportunity in Denver but saw that cut short rather quickly. Even with Gordon waived, this essentially ends Edmonds’ fantasy season even when he does come back. This is due to the typical post-high ankle sprain “lull.”

Joe Mixon – Concussion, Week-to-Week

Mixon exited Week 11 early and now enters the concussion protocol. He has not practiced yet this week, so keep a close eye on him as we get to Friday’s practice report.

Wan’Dale Robinson – ACL Tear, Season Ending

To get an idea of when you can expect Robinson back, start the clock for ten months post-op. This is when we typically see athletes return to full action following ACL surgery. We saw Gallup and Godwin return sooner this year, and I cannot stress enough how amazing that was, so there is a slight chance he could be ready. He was off to a great start to his career, so hopefully, he can regain his pre-injury form in rehab.

Kadarius Toney – Hamstring, 1-3 Weeks

It looks like Toney’s hamstring didn’t magically get better when he arrived in KC. This is the epitome of what many injury analysts mean when we say hamstrings are easily aggravated. Given that Toney has dealt with hamstring injuries to both his lower extremities this season and now has his third injury, I am beginning to wonder if this may become a theme for him.

Mike Williams – High Ankle Sprain Aggravation, 1-3 Weeks

Williams returned, what seemed to be rather quickly following his high ankle sprain. He aggravated this Sunday night, and I would expect him to be out for at least 1-2 weeks. I would temper expectations upon his return as he will have had two injuries to the same ankle. Running/cutting will be less than 100% when he does return.

Kyle Pitts – Torn MCL, Season Ending

This injury often doesn’t require surgery to repair, but given that Pitts is having surgery, that is indicative of the degree of damage sustained. Pitts was underwhelming this year, not being targeted nearly as much as many had hoped. Looking at his long-term outlook, I expect Pitts to have plenty of time to rehab and be 100% for 2023. Hopefully, with a new quarterback who will throw him the ball.
