A Look Back at Our Champ
Before we look at the season ahead, let’s give our reigning champion one last bit of well-deserved kudos. Doc Mitchell was our inaugural champion, besting Garret Price in the finals on the back of huge performances by Derrick Henry and Brock Purdy. Neither manager had anything to hang their heads about, as both teams were dominant from the opening bell. Doc made some great moves along the way, including pivoting off Joe Burrow after his early-season injury in week two.
What Does the Dynasty Nerds App Say?

When we set the Dynasty Nerds App to dynasty mode using our team’s consensus ranks, you can really see just how competitive this league is. With the possibility of being cut hanging over our heads, selling assets and fully tanking seem like dangerous proposals.
Now, you may be asking, “What’s up with Team 12?” Well, the one person exempt from being cut is the defending league champion, Doc. The man earned his nickname and knows the league bylaws inside and out, choosing this opportunity to rebuild for younger assets while he’s safe from the chopping block. Smart!
Here are Doc’s trades since winning the title:
- Traded Derrick Henry to get David Montgomery
- Traded Jaxon Smith-Njigba to get Drake London, a 2026 1st, and 2026 2nd.
- With those picks, he drafted Ty Simpson and Skyler Bell
- Traded George Kittle, Tony Pollard, and Brandon Aiyuk to get Kendre Miller and a 2026 1st
- He used that pick to draft Eli Stowers
- Traded Jonathan Taylor and Tahj Brooks to get J.K. Dobbins and Travis Etienne
- Traded a 2028 2nd to get two 2026 3rds, using them to draft Kaelon Black and Zachariah Branch
- Traded Travis Etienne and Jake Ferguson to get TreVeyon Henderson and Zavion Thomas
The Contenders

Peter Monahan – Discord Manager | Trading Analyst
QB: Josh Allen, Matthew Stafford, Malik Willis
RB: Bijan Robinson, Kenneth Walker, Derrick Henry, Josh Jacobs, Nicholas Singleton, Kendre Miller
WR: Emeka Egbuka, Nico Collins, Jameson Williams, Christian Watson, Quentin Johnston
TE: Harold Fannin, Travis Kelce, David Njoku, Evan Engram
When Peter drafted his team, he nicknamed it “Josh and Bijan.” Now, a year later, his roster has been fleshed out a bit more. With solid QB2 play from Stafford plus veteran running backs in Walker and Henry, Pete is ready to compete! Throw in a solid core of receivers and tight ends, and it’s clear why the Dynasty Nerds App loves this roster.
Garret Price – Dynasty Nerds Co-Owner | Head of Content
QB: Dak Prescott, Sam Darnold, Michael Penix
RB: Jahmyr Gibbs, Ashton Jeanty, Cam Skattebo, Javonte Williams, Seth McGowan
WR: Garrett Wilson, A.J. Brown, Zay Flowers, Davante Adams, Michael Wilson, Denzel Boston, Chris Godwin
TE: Colston Loveland, Hunter Henry, Jonnu Smith
Our defending runner-up returns a solid roster powered by arguably the best roster of running backs in the league. Outside of Gibbs, Garret’s roster doesn’t have many elite pieces, but it is packed with solid depth from top to bottom. In a league where we have 13 starting positions, we’ve all learned that having quality depth is as important as having league winners. Will this be Garret’s year?
Keith Ensminger – Nerds App League Commissioner | Senior NFL Prospect Analyst | Mock Draft Lead
QB: Jayden Daniels, Bo Nix, Cam Ward, Bryce Young
RB: Jonathan Taylor, James Cook, Travis Etienne, Zach Charbonnet, Samaje Perine, Emanuel Wilson
WR: Amon-Ra St. Brown, Jaylen Waddle, Jordan Addison, Jakobi Meyers, Deebo Samuel, Malik Washington
TE: Jake Ferguson, Oscar Delp, Theo Johnson, Jake Tonges, Darnell Washington
After the first week of last season, I was sky-high on this roster’s chances. Like Icarus, I flew too close to the sun and came crashing down. A bad trade here (hello, Keon Coleman!) and some injuries there, and I limped my way to a 7th place finish, just missing the playoffs. My stance on the importance of quarterbacks in Superflex leagues remains unchanged after last year’s Jayden Daniels injury. I was able to stay afloat and avoid elimination by maintaining the ability to start a healthy quarterback every week. I don’t love this roster, but if Daniels can return to form, I think it has a chance to make some noise.
Jared Wackerly – Dynasty Nerds Co-Owner | Prospect Evaluations | Business Development
QB: Joe Burrow, Jared Goff, Jacoby Brissett, Jack Strand
RB: De’Von Achane, Chase Brown, Kyren Williams, Rico Dowdle, Kyle Monangai, Chris Rodriguez
WR: Ja’Marr Chase, Chris Olave, Josh Downs, Jalen McMillan, Tre Tucker, Adonai Mitchell, Barion Brown
TE: Chig Okonkwo, Pat Freiermuth
As the Burrow-Chase stack goes, Jared’s team will follow. In fact, Bengals’ running back Chase Brown is also lurking on Jared’s roster. All in on the Cincinnatti Bengals! That said, much like the Bengals, ironically, Jared’s roster has a glaring hole at tight end, with low-end options Okonkwo and Freiermuth holding things down. Does Jared have a move up his sleeve to move into contention? He’s going to have to find a willing partner. Easier said than done in this league!
Mychal Warno – Senior Writer | Trading and Free Agents Analyst
QB: Jalen Hurts, Drew Allar, Geno Smith, Deshaun Watson
RB: Christian McCaffrey, Bucky Irving, Blake Corum, Woody Marks, Malik Davis, Kimani Vidal, Alvin Kamara
WR: Puka Nacua, Tetairoa McMillan, Ladd McConkey, Mike Evans, Isaac TeSlaa, KeAndre Lambert-Smith
TE: Mark Andrews, Brenton Strange, AJ Barner, Mike Gesicki
Breaking! Mychal recently put Christian McCaffrey and Puka Nacua up on the trading block, and inside sources tell me that he is considering selling assets in hopes of rebuilding without being eliminated. Looking at his roster, I can’t say I disagree with the idea. He has several aging assets, and without strength or depth at quarterback, now might be the time to roll the dice. Any trade involving those players would shift the balance of power in this league. Like a dynasty Sword of Damocles dangling in wait, can Mychal pull off both trading those players while remaining strong enough to not fall into the bottom three teams for elimination?
Rich Dotson – Dynasty Nerds Founder | Podcast Host
QB: Justin Herbert, Trevor Lawrence
RB: Saquon Barkley, Quinshon Judkins, D’Andre Swift, Dylan Sampson, Rasheen Ali
WR: Jaxon Smith-Njigba, George Pickens, Rome Odunze, Marvin Harrison, Jalen Coker, Dontayvion Wicks
TE: Kyle Pitts, Dallas Goedert, Juwan Johnson, Dalton Schultz, Eli Raridon
If I didn’t put any of our names to these rosters, you’d still have guessed this was Rich’s roster, right? Justin Herbert! Trevor Lawrence! Quinshon Judkins! Kyle Pitts and Dallas Goedert! It’s a veritable who’s who of offseason Dynasty Nerds podcasts. With that in mind, what’s interesting is that I like this roster a lot more than our Dynasty Nerds App does. Rich has both quality pieces and depth at every position. If Herbert and Lawrence can stay healthy and Odunze and Harrison can take a step forward, you might be looking at this season’s championship roster. (No, Rich did not pay me to say these nice things about his roster.)
The Pretenders

Matt Cooper – Film Room Coordinator | Rookie Scouting
QB: Tyler Shough, Carson Beck, Aaron Rodgers, J.J. McCarthy, Dillon Gabriel
RB: Omarion Hampton, Bhayshul Tuten, MarShawn Lloyd, Emmett Johnson, Keaton Mitchell, Justice Hill
WR: CeeDee Lamb, Carnell Tate, KC Concepcion, Omar Cooper, Rashid Shaheed, Ted Hurst, Elijah Sarratt
TE: Brock Bowers, Trey McBride, Elijah Arroyo, Greg Dulcich
If “bully” tight end is your go-to strategy, Matt Cooper has a team for you. Nobody has a positional advantage like Matt does with rostering both Bowers and McBride, but with that strength comes potential holes elsewhere. Matt’s quarterback room is hanging on by a thread, but if Shough can continue playing well in season 2 and Carson Beck can win the starting job at some point this season, Matt’s team has a good a chance as any in our league.
Taylor Christianson – Editor-in-Chief of DynastyNerds.com
QB: Lamar Jackson, C.J. Stroud, Kirk Cousins
RB: Jeremiyah Love, Jadarian Price, Jonah Coleman, Tony Pollard, Chris Brooks, Ollie Gordon
WR: Tee Higgins, Makai Lemon, DJ Moore, De’Zhaun Stribling, Malachi Fields, Antonio Williams, Ricky Pearsall
TE: Tyler Warren, George Kittle, T.J. Hockenson, Mason Taylor
With early-season bad luck and injury issues, Taylor’s plan took a tough turn sooner than expected. He sold nearly every asset of value and accumulated as many 2026 draft picks he could. Will that plan work out? Looking over his new roster for 2026, I’d say things are trending in the right direction. Taylor has a young elite asset at running back (Love) and tight end (Warren), and with a deep 2027 draft class at quarterback and wide receiver, this roster might only be a year away from competing.
Matt O’Hara – Dynasty Nerds Co-Owner
QB: Caleb Williams, Kyler Murray, Shedeur Sanders
RB: Jonathon Brooks, Rhamondre Stevenson, Jordan Mason, Rachaad White, Braelon Allen, Kaytron Allen
WR: Justin Jefferson, DeVonta Smith, Rashee Rice, Terry McLaurin, Jayden Reed, Caleb Douglas
TE: Tucker Kraft, Kenyon Sadiq, Max Klare, Erick All, Charlie Kolar
Matt is joining us for the first time this year, replacing an eliminated team. He hasn’t had time to make this roster his own yet, but with his longtime dynasty crush Justin Jefferson holding down his wide receiver room, I doubt he’s complaining much. Outside of running back, this team has pieces in the right places. If Jonathan Brooks can stay healthy and make the leap many are expecting him to do, Matt should enjoy some success in his rookie season in the Dynasty Nerds App League.
Jon Glosser – Head of IDP Content
QB: Drake Maye, Patrick Mahomes, Daniel Jones, Joe Milton
RB: Breece Hall, Kaleb Johnson, Tank Bigsby, Aaron Jones, Ray Davis, Jaylen Wright
WR: Luther Burden, Jordyn Tyson, DK Metcalf, Xavier Worthy, Jaylin Noel, Xavier Legette
TE: Sam LaPorta, Dalton Kincaid, Oronde Gadsden, Michael Trigg, Michael Mayer
A tale of New England, New York, and New Orleans. First, in Foxboro, Drake Maye broke out for Jon’s team last season, and paired with Mahomes and Daniel Jones, Jon looks set at quarterback. However, in New York (or New Jersey, really… the play on words still holds!), Breece Hall looks to be Jon’s only bright spot at running back, striking out on Kaleb Johnson last season. Unfortunately, in New Orleans, Jordyn Tyson looks to be an dud for 2026 teams, leaving Jon with little else to work with. Jon’s hope to stave off elimination is that his high-end pieces can score enough to at least gets some wins against the bottom of the barrel teams. Tough sledding ahead!
Doc Mitchell – Senior Writer
QB: Brock Purdy, Baker Mayfield, Ty Simpson, Mac Jones
RB: TreVeyon Henderson, David Montgomery, Jacory Croskey-Merritt, Chuba Hubbard, J.K. Dobbins,
WR: Drake London, Wan’Dale Robinson, Michael Pittman, Khalil Shakir, Zachariah Branch, Tre’ Harris
TE: Eli Stowers, Terrance Ferguson, Gunnar Helm, Marlin Klein
The champ is here! And the champ is rebuilding. We already mentioned the many moves Doc made to transition from contender to rebuild, and he has the exemption from elimination going for him. For Doc, this year won’t be about wins and losses but rather continuing to collect value for 2027 and beyond. Early results for Eli Stowers haven’t been promising, but Ty Simpson looked the part in limited action this preseason. This is all simply a case of “to be continued”…
Steven Pintado – Dynasty Nerds Analytics | Writing Team
QB: Jaxson Dart, Jordan Love, Fernando Mendoza, Tua Tagovailoa
RB: RJ Harvey, Jaylen Warren, Mike Washington, Kenny Gainwell, Tyrone Tracy, Adam Randall, Najee Harris
WR: Malik Nabers, Brian Thomas, Parker Washington, Matthew Golden, Alec Pierce, Chris Bell
TE: Isaiah Likely, Cade Otton, Sam Roush, Matt Hibner
Like Matt O’Hara, Steven is our other new manager this season. What’s he working with? That likely depends on how you like the New York Giants’ stack of Dart to Nabers and Likely. Time will tell how that combination meshes with John Harbaugh and the new coaching staff. Although strong at quarterback, it’s clear as to why the Dynasty Nerds App isn’t a huge fan of this roster. Steven’s running back cupboard is barren, and outside of Nabers, Steven’s WR2 and WR3 will cannibalize each other for targets on the same NFL team. I think Steven’s going to need a little bit of luck to remain in the league for a second season.
Ready, Set, Go!
With star-studded rosters and bragging rights at stake, the second season of the Dynasty Nerds App League promises to be an absolute gauntlet from the first week until the last. The combination of deep starting lineups and weekly matchups against the median means that no one can simply coast through. Every waiver dollar and every trade offer will matter. Beyond the championship comes the chance for immunity from elimination for three seasons, giving them the chance to rebuild.
Be sure to follow us through the twists and turns of this season and keep your eyes peeled for when we hand the keys over to you. That’s right. When the time comes for the eliminations, only you, the #NerdHerd, have the power to choose who remains in the league and who is put out to pasture.
