Tyler Shough | QB | Trending Up

Second-year quarterback Tyler Shough is trending up in dynasty after being selected in the late 2nd round of many rookie drafts last year. Shough has been elite to start the season, scoring more than 24 fantasy points in each of his first 3 games. He now gets a divisional matchup against the Atlanta Falcons on Monday Night Football, giving dynasty managers another opportunity to watch him perform on a big stage. Atlanta has allowed the 13th-most fantasy points per game to quarterbacks, setting Shough up for another productive outing. Another boost to his value has been Kellen Moore’s offense averaging 74 plays per game, five more than the next-closest team, while Shough is also adding 20 rushing yards per game to raise his fantasy ceiling. If Shough can deliver another 20-plus fantasy point performance in primetime, there need to be real conversations about where he belongs among the top dynasty quarterbacks.

Emeka Egbuka | WR | Trending Down

Emeka Egbuka’s dynasty stock could continue trending downward on Sunday with another mediocre performance. With Baker Mayfield expected to miss the next 3 games, the Buccaneers will turn to Jalon Daniels at quarterback, which could create even more uncertainty for Egbuka. He currently sits at WR31 and has yet to score more than 10 half-PPR fantasy points in a game, which is far from the production dynasty managers expected from the young receiver.

There isn’t much confidence that Daniels will improve a passing attack that already struggled with Mayfield, and there’s even a chance rookie Ted Hurst benefits from the quarterback change. The positive is that Egbuka continues to see a solid 20% target share, but his 0.21 targets per route run and 1.48 YPRR are well below what we saw from him last season. If Egbuka struggles again on Sunday, his value could drop even further and open a legitimate buy-low window for rebuilding teams looking to acquire a young receiver who has already flashed WR1 upside.

Week 4 Fantasy Football Injury Updates

While you should check out our Week 4 tiers and Start/Sit rankings for the full slate, here are the most important fantasy updates for players who were ruled out following Friday’s final practice reports.

DeVonta Smith | PHI | WR

With DeVonta Smith OUT for the Eagles, they will turn to Dontayvion Wicks and rookie Makai Lemon to handle a larger workload. The Rams have been excellent at limiting receivers in terms of yardage, as they have yet to allow a receiver to surpass 50 yards this season. They have allowed four receiving touchdowns, though, so there is still some upside for both players. I think the matchup favors Lemon working from the slot more than Wicks on the outside, making Lemon the more intriguing fantasy option this week. We could also see Jalen Hurts use his legs more often, with Philadelphia leaning heavily on its rushing attack.

Rachaad White | WAS | RB

With Rachaad White missing Week 4, this backfield could go in one of two directions. First, it could push Jacory Croskey-Merritt into that high-upside, boom-or-bust RB3 range. JCM has been inefficient this season, so it’s difficult to trust that the production will suddenly follow the increased workload. However, running backs have historically had some big performances in London games, which could make him worth the risk Sunday morning. The other possibility is recently signed Austin Ekeler stepping into a larger role much quicker than many expected when Washington brought him back.

Justin Jefferson | MIN | WR

With Justin Jefferson OUT, look for Jordan Addison to jump into the low-end WR2 range. In a matchup against a struggling Dolphins defense, Addison should once again operate as Kyler Murray’s top receiving option. Wide receivers haven’t necessarily produced huge numbers against Miami this season, but part of that can be attributed to the Dolphins facing teams that have been able to lean on their running backs. Addison should see enough opportunities to be a strong starter in three-WR leagues in Week 4.

Jadarian Price | SEA | RB

Not great news for rookie running back Jadarian Price, who will miss Week 4 with chest and shoulder injuries. Price’s absence definitely hurts his chances of holding onto the starting job, especially after he left us with a bad taste following his Week 3 performance. The possibility of Zach Charbonnet returning in Week 5 is also growing, putting even more pressure on Price moving forward.

For Week 4, expect Emanuel Wilson and George Holani to split the backfield work. Wilson should handle most of the early-down touches, while Holani operates more in the passing game. The Chargers can be beaten on the ground, especially after allowing over 200 all-purpose yards to the Bills backfield last week. If Seattle can play from ahead, Wilson offers some low-end RB3 appeal in deeper leagues, while Holani is more of a desperation play in full-PPR formats.

2027 Rookie Prospects to Watch

Duke Watson  | RB | UCF

At Houston | 12:00p | Saturday, Oct. 3rd

Duke Watson has been inconsistent this season, with two strong outings against weaker opponents and two poor performances against average competition. He gets a tough matchup against a Houston defense allowing only 63.5 rushing yards per game in recent performances and ranking among the better run defenses in the nation.

What we want to see from Watson is whether he can produce against a top-tier defense and make some noise. Watson has impressive speed and downhill running ability, but we want to see those traits translate against better competition. He has some sleeper appeal in the 2027 class, and a strong performance in this matchup could help put him on more people’s radar.

Fluff Bothwell | RB | Mississippi State

Vs Alabama | 12:00p | Saturday, Oct. 3rd

Running back Fluff Bothwell has been amazing in 2026. He’s coming off three straight 100-yard games against solid opponents in Minnesota, South Carolina, and No. 19 Missouri. Bothwell is on pace to crush his 2025 numbers and could even surpass what he accomplished during the 2024 season. This is likely my final big test for Bothwell as he faces Alabama. Their run defense was elite to start the season but has shown a few cracks in recent weeks. Despite that, Alabama is still an elite team that could force Mississippi State away from the run and into a more pass-heavy approach.

What we want to see from Bothwell is whether he can continue to dominate even if his touches are limited. His involvement in the passing game was promising last week, so we want to see him continue to show solid route-running ability and what he can do with the ball in his hands. Bothwell continues to creep up the running back rankings for the 2027 class, and another strong performance against Alabama would only help his case.

Mike Matthews | WR | Tennessee

Vs Auburn | 3:30p | Saturday, Oct. 3rd

Our final player is wide receiver Mike Matthews, who is coming off a strong outing against No. 1-ranked Texas. Matthews got off to a slower start this season but has now put together back-to-back solid performances. He now faces an Auburn secondary that has been solid for most of the season. Conference games tend to bring out the best in teams, so expect Matthews to face some real challenges in this matchup.

What we want to see from Matthews is for him to get involved early rather than relying on late-game heroics. Hopefully, the Volunteers find ways to get him the ball in space because Matthews has the speed to turn any opportunity into a big play. Another strong performance would help show that his recent production is becoming a consistent part of his game.

Week 4 Dynasty Storylines

Will the Chargers Stop Chargering?

Many dynasty managers have been hurt by how poorly the Chargers offense has played to start the season.

  • Justin Herbert – QB24
  • Omarion Hampton – RB22
  • Ladd McConkey – WR27
  • Quentin Johnston – WR87
  • Oronde Gadsden – TE33

Those are not the numbers we expected from an offense led by a supposed offensive genius. The Chargers rank 29th in points per game, while the offensive line has struggled tremendously, ranking 28th in pressure rate allowed. The scheme may also simply not be putting these players in the best position to succeed. Their offense currently sits at an ugly -0.34 EPA per play, the worst mark in the league. This team desperately needs its bye week to figure things out because right now, the offense is falling apart.

Unfortunately, things may not get better anytime soon. The Chargers face the Seahawks, Chiefs, and Broncos over the next three weeks, with those defenses presenting difficult matchups, particularly against the passing game. If you are a contending dynasty manager, I wouldn’t expect a significant turnaround until potentially the second half of the season. I’d look for rebuilding managers and see if Ladd McConkey or Omarion Hampton still interests them as a long-term asset in a deal that helps you win now. On the other hand, rebuilding teams should be looking to buy Chargers players at their reduced prices. I still believe there is plenty of talent on this offense, but it may take significant coaching or schematic changes to bring out the best in this group, and those changes may not happen until after the season.

Tyreek Hill’s Comeback Watch

Oh, how we love to start rumors when a big-name player hints at a potential return. Tyreek Hill recently posted on social media that he is “ready for some cold weather,” which could mean a few different things. Maybe he simply wants to watch some cold-weather football, or maybe the 32-year-old receiver is hinting that he wants to play in it. Hill is a year removed from the devastating knee injury he suffered in Week 4 of 2025, when he dislocated his knee and tore multiple ligaments, including his ACL.

Before the injury, Hill was averaging 66.3 receiving yards per game. There are several teams that could potentially use his talent, with the Bills, Ravens, Packers, Chiefs, Raiders, and 49ers among the interesting landing spots. The biggest question is whether that elite speed and explosiveness are still there after such a significant injury. For dynasty managers, Hill is worth a cheap gamble for a contender if you can acquire him for something like a 2027 fourth-round pick, but I believe he could offer more value to an NFL team than to fantasy managers expecting a late-season top-30 receiver.
