Week 8 is here, and several key fantasy players are dealing with injuries that could impact their availability and production. Here’s the latest injury news, return-to-play outlooks, and what fantasy managers need to know before setting their Sunday lineups.
I’m Maddox McCloud, PT, DPT, an orthopedic physical therapist covering NFL injuries, return-to-play considerations, and injury-related fantasy football implications.

Questionable Players | Week 8 Fantasy Football
D.J. Moore | WR | Buffalo Bills | Shoulder
After missing two games heading into Buffalo’s Week 7 bye, Moore is trending toward a return from an AC joint sprain. The extra recovery time should work in his favor, and I anticipate him playing without significant limitations. Dynasty managers should feel comfortable getting him back into their lineups.
Breece Hall | RB | New York Jets | Quad
A viral post on X/Twitter, paired with Hall’s lingering quad injury, has raised questions about his availability and future with the Jets. Quad strains are tricky for running backs because they impact acceleration, cutting, and explosiveness. Returning too early can lead to aggravation, making Hall’s health and workload a concern for dynasty managers.
Jaylen Waddle | WR | Denver Broncos | Chest
Waddle suffered a chest injury against the Cardinals last week, an issue he has dealt with earlier this season. Chest injuries often come down to pain management and the ability to tolerate contact. While his practice reports have been encouraging, Waddle remains a risky option for fantasy managers to rely on this week.
Rashid Shaheed | WR | Seattle Seahawks | Knee
Shaheed has been ruled out against the Chiefs, despite Seattle having the benefit of a Monday night kickoff and an extra day of rest. Fantasy managers counting on Shaheed should have a backup option ready and plan accordingly.
Jakobi Meyers | WR | Jacksonville Jaguars | Hamstring/Ankle
After missing Friday’s practice with multiple injuries, Meyers’ status for Sunday remains uncertain. A game-time decision appears likely. If Meyers is unable to suit up, Travis Hunter could see an expanded role on the offensive side of the ball, potentially increasing his involvement as a dual-threat playmaker.

Players Cleared to Play | Week 8 Fantasy Football
Lamar Jackson | QB | Baltimore Ravens | Ankle
Much of the sports media conversation this week has centered around Lamar Jackson’s ankle injury. Despite the concern, Jackson is trending toward a return this week for a marquee matchup against Josh Allen and the Buffalo Bills. The biggest question surrounding Jackson’s return is how much the ankle injury will limit his mobility.
Jeremiyah Love | RB | Arizona Cardinals | Ankle
It’s been an up-and-down start to Love’s rookie season, with recurring ankle issues limiting his availability. The first-round rookie is set to return against a favorable matchup with the Cowboys. The question remains how effective he’ll be coming off the injury and whether his ankle will limit his workload. Dynasty managers should keep an eye on his usage.
Jadarian Price | RB | Seattle Seahawks | Chest
It’s been a rough start to Price’s career, with injuries limiting his early availability. After logging a full practice Friday, Price has been cleared to return from his chest injury. With Zach Charbonnet also cleared to return, Seattle’s backfield could become crowded quickly, leaving fantasy managers with plenty of uncertainty surrounding workload distribution.
Stefon Diggs | WR | Washington Commanders | Hamstring/Hand
With Terry McLaurin lost for the season due to a severe knee injury, Stefon Diggs steps into the de facto WR1 role in Washington. Diggs should see an increased target share from Jayden Daniels, making him an important fantasy option moving forward.
Tyler Warren | TE | Indianapolis Colts | Groin
After missing time since Week 5 with a groin injury, Tyler Warren is set to return. Even with the Colts seemingly tanking and shifting their focus toward the future, Warren should immediately reclaim his role as Daniel Jones’ safety blanket. Managers can confidently get him back into lineups.
Ladd McConkey | WR | Los Angeles Chargers | Concussion
Off the injury report after sustaining a concussion in Week 6 with a convenient bye week in between, McConkey should have no limitations with the Chargers desperate for more offensive production.

Players With High Re-injury Concerns | Week 8 Fantasy Football
Saquon Barkley | RB | Philadelphia Eagles | Hamstring/Back
Saquon Barkley has no injury designation heading into Sunday night’s matchup against Washington after playing through hamstring and back issues last week. Even though Barkley appears ready to suit up again, there’s some concern about his ability to stay healthy. He seemed to be pushing the limits last week, particularly with his previously injured hamstring, putting him at risk of aggravating the injury again.
Rashee Rice | WR | Kansas City Chiefs | Hamstring
Rice has been sidelined since Week 4 with a hamstring strain but is now in position to return to the lineup. As with Saquon Barkley, the first few games back from a soft-tissue injury can carry an elevated risk of re-injury
Aaron Jones | RB | Minnesota Vikings | Knee
Despite appearing to aggravate his previous MCL injury again last week, Jones is expected to be active. However, MCL injuries can be particularly tricky depending on the severity of the sprain. Higher-grade injuries can create ligament laxity, reducing stability within the knee and potentially increasing the risk of further injury.

IR Watch | Who Is Coming Back Soon?
Jonathon Brooks | RB | Carolina Panthers | Groin
The injury bug continues to plague Brooks, but there is opportunity in the Panthers’ backfield behind Chuba Hubbard. After undergoing core muscle surgery on September 23, Brooks was given an estimated six-week recovery timeline, putting an early-to-mid November return in sight. Dynasty managers should keep an eye on his progress as he works toward a return.
Jordyn Tyson | WR | New Orleans Saints | Hamstring
Tyson lands on the injury report again after being featured last week, but his return appears to be getting closer. The highly touted first-round rookie has the talent to make an immediate impact once healthy. The biggest hurdle remains getting past the lingering hamstring issue without setbacks.
Travis Etienne Jr. | RB | New Orleans Saints | Hamstring
After a rough start to 2026, Etienne suffered a hamstring strain that has sidelined him since Week 3. He has yet to return to practice, but the Saints can open his practice window at any time. Dynasty managers should monitor his progress, as his return could provide a boost to the Saints’ backfield.
As always, monitor the latest injury reports and inactive announcements leading up to kickoff, as situations can change quickly on game day. Make informed lineup decisions, have contingency plans ready, and stay ahead of the competition by keeping up with the latest injury news.
