Welcome to the Week 7 NFL CheatChart. In this article, I provide an easy-to-use positional match ups table and highlight potentially exploitable Week 7 fantasy football matchups. Use this for fantasy football start/sit decisions, to make DFS lineups, and place player prop bets.

If you’re curious about the process you can find a full introduction HERE where I lay out the NFL CheatChart methodology.

Identify the Week 7 Fantasy Football Matchup Chart

Week 7 NFL CheatChart Positional matchup advantages and disadvantages for QB RB WR and TE.

First, find YOUR PLAYER’S TEAM in the first column. Next, follow that line to THEIR POSITION’S column. That percentage is how much better or worse you can expect them to do compared to what they typically score.

Example: Let’s say you’re deciding between Omar Cooper (WR-NYJ) and Aaron Jones (RB-MIN). For Cooper, find NYJ in the first column. Follow that row over to the WR column, and you’ll see his positional matchup is -26%. That’s a very negative matchup. Next, for Jones, find MIN in the first column. Follow that row over to the RB column, and you’ll see his positional matchup is 10%, which is a mildly positive matchup. Given both players are averaging around 13-14 points per game, I would lean Jones.

Best Week 7 Fantasy Football Matchups to Target

A Love Hate Relationship

Jordan Love has been catching some criticism for somewhat underwhelming real-life performances this year. At a glance that may look the same for fantasy, however, he hasn’t had a terrible game yet and has one of the best looking schedules for the rest of the season. This week he gets a 37% match up against the Lions in the higher over/under game of the week. Not only should you be starting him, but consider trading for him if you’re competing and need to bolster the position.

Philly RB Shuffle

You should be buying Dameon Pierce. In Week 6, Saquon Barkley missed his second game with a hamstring injury and Dameon Pierce was the guy the Eagles went to. He had 12 carries and 5 targets leading to a tepid 9.1 points in what was a mildly negative matchup. Now there are rumors that Saquon Barkley could be traded. This week he gets the Cowboys who are a solidly positive matchup, but if he performs even moderately well his price will skyrocket.

No Run All Pass

Along with Jordan Love, his receivers are in a good spot as well. Christian Watson and Matthew Golden. Love currently has the sixth most pass attempts so far this year, and these two have been receiving the bulk of them. Watson is still the clear WR1 but Golden is coming off an absolutely monster game. A divisional matchup with shootout potential is a great environment, you should be starting both.

Tight End Tossup in Baltimore

Start Mark Andrews and pick up Josh Cuevas. Andrews is coming off a terrible performance in a neutral matchup where rookie TE Josh Cuevas stole the show. Cuevas caught 4 of his 5 targets for 44 yards and a touchdown. He hasn’t done much this year until then, but his snap counts have been going up. This could be a flash in the pan game but if you have even slightly deep benches you should be stashing him to find out. Andrews‘ field time hasn’t dipped so there is no need to panic yet, he should fair better in this week’s 38% match up.

Toughest Week 7 Fantasy Football Matchups to Avoid

Cardinals QB Troubles

Jacoby Brissett is coming off a season low game, and unfortunately it may not be much better this week as he has a -16% matchup against the Broncos. They are expected to trail so he may have passing volume but the game’s over/under is below what you’d like to see. Consider him a lower-end QB2 in Week 7.

No Melody in Music City

Tony Pollard is getting the kind of volume you want your running backs to get. Sadly it isn’t turning into much in the way of fantasy points. He scored just 8.6 points on 19 carried last week in what should have been a good matchup. Now he has one of the worst matchups in the league in a game with the week’s lowest over/under. Chances are you probably have to start him if you have him on your roster, but don’t expect much.

Prepare Jets for Landing

Omar Cooper did exceptionally well last week for being in a mildly positive matchup. Garrett Wilson came up short, but is a must-start regardless of the situation. This week they get a -26% matchup against the Dolphins. I understand that benching Cooper after he just put up more than 20 points will be hard, but don’t let a fear of missing out lead you astray. He’s a flex play still, but I’d be amazed if he does anything close to what he did in Week 6.

Fannin the Flames

There was much pre-season hype about Harold Fannin Jr. and in Week 3 it seemed to have finally come to fruition. Unfortunately, since then he’s only been able to net 5 catches in the last 3 games. While those matchups weren’t great, neither is this week’s against the Titans. He has a -29% matchup this week in a game with a measly 38.5 point over/under. Look elsewhere for tight end steaming this week.

NFL Week 7 Matchup Trends | Run Funnels, Pass Funnels & IDP

Notable Rush Funnel Teams: Denver, Green Bay, Seattle, and San Francisco are the heaviest rush funnel teams.

Pass Funnel Teams: Arizona, Baltimore, Chicago, Cleveland, and Detroit are the biggest pass funnel teams at present.

IDP Targets: The Giants have been the best team to target for IDP but that could change as they recently announced that JJ McCarthy would be taking over at QB. Seattle for linebackers, Tampa Bay and the LA Rams for DBs. Cleveland and Minnesota for DL.

Final Word | Week 7 NFL CheatChart

Thank you for joining me for another year of the CheatChart. With the full six week sample we are at peak accuracy now. We are seeing a few teams shifting due to quarterback changes, and with a few announcements this week there are more changes coming. We should see the effects of those changes in the coming weeks and I’ll do my best to point them out so we don’t get fooled by outdated situations that no longer apply. Until next week, good luck!
