In dynasty fantasy football, every roster spot matters when building toward a championship. Week 9 Dynasty Fantasy Football Advice explains who to keep, trade, or cut a player can make a significant difference in both your short-term success and long-term roster value. In this article, we break down players worth holding onto, veterans you should consider trading while they still carry dynasty value, and roster cloggers you can move on from to make room for younger players with more upside. Dynasty championships aren’t just about identifying talent—they’re about maximizing value, making calculated decisions, and knowing when it’s time to move on.
Please note that this article is focused toward 12-team leagues with 28-man rosters.

Week 9 Dynasty Trade Advice | Keep Trade Cut Targets
Keep | Seth McGowan | Week 9 Fantasy Football
Seth McGowan is worth holding on your dynasty roster purely as a high-upside contingency play, especially with the growing trade rumors surrounding Jonathan Taylor. We have already seen Indianapolis trade away Quentin Nelson and DeForest Buckner, so the fire sale has begun. The Colts have reportedly been in heavy trade talks with multiple teams to deal Taylor, which would immediately vault the rookie seventh-rounder into a much larger role in Indianapolis and increase McGowan’s fantasy value.
Keep | Javonte Williams | Week 9 Keep Trade Cut
Garret Price should be taking victory laps on this one. Javonte Williams is a firm hold for me in dynasty. After years of disappointment in Denver, where injuries and inefficiency kept him from ever living up to his early hype, he has completely rejuvenated his career since joining the Dallas Cowboys.
After signing with Dallas in 2025, Williams finished as the RB12 with over 1,200 rushing yards and 11 touchdowns. Williams has maintained that RB1 pace in 2026, and at just 26 years old, with a multi-year deal and proven production in this offense, Williams is exactly the kind of stable, high-floor asset you keep locked on your roster rather than shop. Williams has been one of the highest risers in my dynasty ranks.

Trade For | Jared Goff | Week 9 Fantasy Football
If you need quarterback help, look no further than the Detroit Lions’ Jared Goff. Goff is one of the cheaper high-floor quarterback targets in dynasty right now if you’re a contender who needs reliable production without losing significant roster assets. Since being traded to Detroit, Goff has never finished below QB10.
Goff’s production often does not match his acquisition price. Other quarterbacks putting up comparable production usually cost a lot more. That could be because of their age, rushing upside, or just name value. Goff sits in that awkward-but-useful middle ground where managers undervalue his consistency. You can often get him for less than it takes to acquire a similarly tier-ranked QB1, which is perfect if you’re chasing that championship and don’t want to overpay.
Goff is not the flashiest dual-threat or the youngest prospect, but his production has been incredibly steady and consistent. In fellow Dynasty Nerd writer Steven Pintado’s most recent Dynasty Watchlist article, he lists Goff among the quarterbacks with more favorable schedules for Weeks 10 through 14.
He’s not a long-term dynasty cornerstone at this stage of his career, but for the next couple of seasons as a high-floor QB1 who won’t break the bank, Goff could be the final piece you need for back-to-back championships.
Trade Away | Breece Hall | Week 9 Keep Trade Cut
This one hurts, as I was one of the biggest Breece Hall truthers, but I am ready to cut ties with Hall while he still holds decent trade value. Hall has dealt with injuries throughout his career, and his current quad injury has already forced him to miss 5 consecutive games after appearing in just 3 contests this season. I am also concerned that while Hall has been out, Braelon Allen has looked like a stud, rushing for over 100 yards in 3 of his 5 starts.
When Hall returns from injury, this situation could turn into a 65/35 split or a full-blown committee, as Allen has, in my opinion, earned more touches in this offense. I don’t want to wait until Hall returns and starts splitting opportunities before exploring the trade market. I’m looking to move Hall while managers still value him as a high-end RB.

Cut | Zach Ertz | Week 9 Fantasy Football
Zach Ertz may be a future Hall of Famer, but he is no longer valuable to our dynasty rosters. After signing with the Philadelphia Eagles and being elevated from the practice squad during Dallas Goedert’s absence, Ertz had an opportunity to earn a significant role in the Eagles’ offense. Instead, he has recorded just 3 receptions for 22 yards on 8 targets this season.
With the debut of rookie Eli Stowers, Ertz now seems firmly relegated to the Eagles’ practice squad. At 17% rostership, it is tough when a 35-year-old veteran can’t even secure a permanent roster spot, making it difficult to justify holding him in a 12-team league with 28-man rosters.
Cut | Olamide Zaccheaus | Week 9 Keep Trade Cut
Unless you are in a Scrabble fantasy league that awards points for complex names, you can safely drop Olamide Zaccheaus from your roster. Stuck behind Drake London, Bijan Robinson, and Kyle Pitts, Zaccheaus is only seeing a 20-35% snap share when healthy and is currently dealing with a shoulder injury.
At 29 years old with a career ceiling that never exceeded 65 targets or 533 yards in any season, he offers no developmental upside or a realistic path to meaningful production. Use your roster spot elsewhere on someone with legitimate upside.
