Week 2 Quarterback Rankings & Start/Sit
Tier 1 | Elite QB1

Our top quarterback for Week 2 is Lamar Jackson (minus the TNF players). Despite potentially being without multiple starting receivers, Jackson should thrive against a Saints defense that allowed plenty of production on the ground in Week 1. Jackson may end up using his legs more, which could be great for his fantasy upside. The Saints played zone coverage on 90% of their defensive snaps in Week 1, and Jackson finished with a near-perfect QB rating against zone coverage versus the Colts. Expect Jackson to be efficient and likely find his way into the end zone in Week 2.
Tier 2 | Strong QB1

Dak Prescott should be in for a bounce-back performance against the Commanders in the Cowboys’ home opener. In his last 4 games against Washington, Prescott has produced at least 264 passing yards and 2 or more passing touchdowns in each matchup. The Commanders’ defense looked shaky in Week 1 against an Eagles passing attack that wasnβt at its best. Look for Prescott to take advantage of the matchup and deliver a strong fantasy performance in Week 2.
Trevor Lawrence was brilliant in Week 1, posting strong advanced stats across the board. Granted, it was against the Browns, so heβll have a bigger test against the Broncosβ secondary in Week 2. If Denver continues to play man coverage at a 33% or higher rate, Lawrence should be able to thrive after posting a 149.3 QB rating against man coverage in Week 1. If Lawrence can continue to pressure this secondary with all of his weapons, expect another QB1 performance.
Tier 3 | Matchup-Driven QB1/High-End QB2 Options

Caleb Williams shined in Week 1, helping the Bears score 59 points while posting an impressive 41.3 fantasy points. Now, he faces the Vikings in Week 2, a team he has struggled against in his last 3 matchups, throwing for fewer than 225 yards in each game with just 2 total touchdowns. We saw the Packers push the ball downfield early against Minnesota last week, and Williams posted a strong 17.1% deep-throw rate in Week 1. Expect him to continue taking shots downfield and making big plays. It’s a slight fade compared to Week 1, but Williams’ talent should still allow him to produce a QB1 performance.
I expect a better game from Baker Mayfield in Week 2 against the Browns. Cleveland allowed a high CPOE and adjusted completion percentage in Week 1, meaning opposing the quarterback were able to complete passes efficiently and with strong accuracy. Mayfield threw the ball well in Week 1, but pressure was a major issue as he struggled to get comfortable in the offense. If the offensive line can give him more time in the pocket, expect a bounce-back performance from Mayfield in Week 2.
Tier 4 | Volatile QB2 Starters

Justin Herbert will look to bounce back in Week 2, but there should be some concern if Ladd McConkey misses this game. Herbert faces the Raiders, a team he has thrown at least 2 passing touchdowns against in 3 straight games. However, Las Vegas did a great job making Malik Willis look inaccurate in Week 1, posting strong defensive marks in CPOE and adjusted completion percentage. Herbert also struggled in those advanced metrics, with his accuracy and expected completion percentage falling below his usual standards. This could be a potential trap game for a big-name quarterback against a defense that still has plenty to prove.
Drake Maye could also be in for a tough outing at home, especially with A.J. Brown out for this game. The Steelers’ defense was strong in Week 1, but the most interesting takeaway was that they played zone coverage on every defensive snap. That could create problems for Maye, who struggled against zone coverage with a 53.3 QB rating in Week 1. Without Brown and facing a defensive scheme he struggled against, Maye is closer to a sit than a start in 1QB leagues for Week 2.
C.J. Stroud was impressive in Week 1 with a strong fantasy outing, and he gets a favorable advanced-stat matchup in Week 2. Stroud faces a Bengals defense that played man coverage at a 36.1% rate, the fourth-highest in Week 1, while Stroud posted a strong QB rating against man coverage. Cincinnati also allowed a high CPOE and adjusted completion percentage. Stroud performed well in both categories in Week 1, so he should be able to produce against this defense as long as he can avoid pressure. Consider Stroud a sleeper option for Week 2.
Tier 5 | Desperation Superflex

Bryce Young had a great Week 1 and should be considered a sleeper option in Superflex leagues heading into Week 2. He draws a favorable matchup against the Falcons, giving Young an opportunity to build off his strong start and produce another solid fantasy performance.
Carson Wentz will starts in Week 2, he does have a favorable matchup against the Bears. Chicago played man coverage on 44.2% of its defensive snaps in Week 1, a coverage Wentz performed well against. This matchup could give him some sneaky Superflex appeal.
Malik Willis should not be considered a startable option against the 49ers on the road in Week 2. Despite the rushing upside he offers, this is a difficult matchup that could limit his overall fantasy ceiling. Willis is better left on the bench outside of deeper Superflex leagues.

Ashton Jeanty came on strong in Week 1 and lit things up, so don’t be discouraged by a tougher matchup in Week 2. The Chargers allowed the fourth-most yards after contact in Week 1, while Jeanty averaged 2.61 yards after contact per attempt. Expect the Raiders to lean on Jeanty once again, and if they make it into the red zone, he should have plenty of opportunities to score after handling 75% of the team’s inside-the-20 touches in Week 1.

While the Commanders were able to hold Saquon Barkley to an average performance, don’t expect Javonte Williams to follow suit. Williams performed well against Washington last season, scoring a touchdown in both matchups. The Commanders also allowed the second-highest forced missed tackle rate in the league in Week 1, so expect Williams to take advantage of their poor tackling and put together a strong outing.
Bucky Irving put together a solid outing in Week 1, but a few things stood out beyond the fantasy production. He ran the seventh-most routes among running backs despite Kenny Gainwell being in the backfield and also posted a 25% target share, which ranked second at the position. It seems Irving’s involvement in the passing game isn’t going away anytime soon. The Browns allowed the most YPRR to running backs in Week 1, showing they were highly vulnerable to pass-catching backs. Expect Irving to remain heavily involved as both a runner and receiver in Week 2.
Kyren Williams may be a fade in Week 2 as the Rams face the Giants on Monday Night Football. Williams has never scored a touchdown in four career games on MNF, which could be concerning considering how much his fantasy ceiling relies on finding the end zone. The Giants also allowed the third-lowest forced missed tackle rate per attempt in Week 1, while Williams had the second-lowest forced missed tackle rate among qualified running backs. Blake Corum is also seeing a decent workload as the backup, which could take away additional opportunities. If Williams can’t find the end zone in this matchup, it could be a disappointing fantasy week.

Rookie running back Jadarian Price may be a forgotten option since Seattle played more than a week ago. Price averaged more than 5.0 yards per carry in Week 1 and has the potential for a solid performance against the Cardinals. Arizona allowed the third-most yards after contact and one of the highest forced missed tackle rates in Week 1, two areas where Price performed well in his debut. With Drew Lock at quarterback, expect Seattle to lean more heavily on the running game, which could give the rookie an opportunity for a bigger workload.
Many fantasy managers found Bhayshul Tuten‘s Week 1 performance disappointing, but he could be in line for a much better outing in Week 2. The Broncos were just crushed by Kenneth Walker, and the Jaguars could follow a similar game plan. Denver ranked last in Week 1 in yards after contact allowed and forced missed tackles, two areas where Tuten performed well in the opener. Tuten has real sleeper potential in this matchup, especially if the Jaguars can play with a lead and giving him more opportunities as the game progresses.
Rookie Jeremiyah Love may be a slight fade in Week 2 unless he sees an increase in targets. Seattle is a tough run defense that got to running backs behind the line of scrimmage at the second-highest rate in Week 1. Meanwhile, Love had the second-lowest YBCO among qualified running backs, meaning the Cardinals’ offensive line wasn’t giving him much help before contact. His best path to a productive fantasy day could come through the passing game after posting a 38.5% route participation rate, but his 8.1% target share needs to increase. If it doesn’t, Love could be in for a disappointing Week 2.
TreVeyon Henderson is returning, so keep an eye on whether Rhamondre Stevenson continues to handle a significant workload in the offense or if Henderson cuts into his opportunities.

Chuba Hubbard still seems to be the guy in the Panthers’ backfield, but his two touchdowns really saved his fantasy performance in Week 1. That could be concerning heading into Week 2, as Hubbard has not scored a touchdown in his last six games against the Falcons.
Jordan Mason is heading to IR, so Aaron Jones Sr. should handle the majority of the workload in Minnesota’s backfield. The last time Mason missed a game in 2025, Jones finished with 64 all-purpose yards. Expect rookie Demond Claiborne and DeeJay Dallas to also be involved, but Jones should remain the primary option.

MarShawn Lloyd feels more like a sit in Week 2 after a poor showing in Week 1. He didn’t command much of the red-zone work and also wasn’t heavily involved in the receiving game. The Jets allowed the lowest YPRR to running backs in Week 1, so I wouldn’t expect much upside from Lloyd in this matchup.

We do have a few sleeper options in this tier of players.
- Kaelon Black saw 47% of the carries in Week 1 and now draws a strong matchup against a Dolphins defense that was crushed on the ground. This feels like a game where the 49ers could give Black more work and limit the number of hits Christian McCaffrey takes.
- Chris Rodriguez Jr. feels like a touchdown waiting to happen against the Broncos, especially after handling 100% of the team’s red-zone touches in Week 1.
- TreVeyon Henderson will be one to watch as he is expected to return in Week 2. Without many reliable pass catchers, Henderson could see plenty of work in the passing game.
- Alvin Kamara is also expected to make his debut, so it will be interesting to see how involved he is, especially in the passing game.
- Fade Kyle Monangai as a FLEX option in Week 2. The majority of his fantasy production came on a 60-yard touchdown run. Minnesota allowed the fewest forced missed tackles in Week 1, while Monangai finished second to last in that category among qualified running backs.

You should expect bounce-back games from two of these receivers who failed you in Week 1. Jaxon Smith-Njigba remains the top receiver, as Drew Lock should continue to funnel targets his way. Smith-Njigba has also posted 77 or more receiving yards in four straight games against the Cardinals and has scored a touchdown in four of his six career games against them.

I don’t think it truly matters who plays quarterback for Justin Jefferson as he faces a Bears defense that allowed the fifth-most yards per route run in Week 1. Jefferson posted a strong 3.04 YPRR himself. Hopefully, he can break a recent trend against Chicago, as he has just one game with more than 15 fantasy points in his last five matchups against the Bears.
CeeDee Lamb has scored a touchdown in five of his last seven games against the Commanders.

DeVonta Smith should be able to bounce back in Week 2 against a poor Titans defense that allowed the fifth-most YPRR in Week 1. Smith should be able to create better separation against the Titans’ secondary, leading to more open looks and a stronger fantasy performance.
Emeka Egbuka is also on the list for a bounce-back performance against the Browns. Cleveland allowed the third-highest TPRR to receivers in Week 1, meaning opposing receivers were targeted at a high rate. Combine that with the Browns allowing the highest YPRR, and Egbuka should be able to thrive in this matchup and potentially produce borderline WR1 numbers.
Zay Flowers is listed as Doubtful – This would put Rashod Bateman into Tier 7

I’m expecting a big game from Luther Burden in Week 2. The Vikings’ defense may be tough, but the advanced stats favor opposing receivers. Minnesota ranked bottom five in TPRR, YPRR, YAC/Rec, and first-read rate allowed in Week 1. Burden, who posted a strong YPRR himself, should be able to create separation and find openings in the secondary. I wouldn’t rule out Rome Odunze being the guy either, but Burden has the speed and explosiveness to make a real difference in Week 2.

We could see a bit of a bounce-back performance from Terry McLaurin in Week 2 after a terrible Week 1. He has posted 50 or more receiving yards in six straight games against Dallas. I would prefer to see McLaurin play more in the slot, as Dallas allowed the fifth-highest slot target rate in Week 1. That could favor Stefon Diggs or Antonio Williams more in this matchup. Hopefully, McLaurin can still provide FLEX value and potentially produce in garbage time.
If Cooper Rush starts again in Week 2, I don’t want anything to do with Drake London in my starting lineup. London has scored 10 or more fantasy points in three of his last four games, but this Falcons offense looks like a mess right now.
Christian Watson looked fantastic in Week 1, but he may have a difficult time creating separation against the Jets, who allowed the lowest YPRR in Week 1. I’m fading Watson against a solid Jets defense in Week 2.

- Michael Wilson has struggled to score more than 10 fantasy points in four of his six career games against the Seahawks.
- Wan’Dale Robinson could bounce back in Week 2, as the Eagles allowed the highest slot target rate in Week 1. Robinson played 78.8% of his snaps from the slot, putting him in a good position to take advantage of the matchup.
- Romeo Doubs looks to be the new WR1 in New England, but I have some concerns in Week 2. The Steelers allowed the second-lowest TPRR in Week 1, meaning their coverage limited opposing offenses from targeting their pass catchers. Doubs struggled when facing tight coverage in Week 1, making this a difficult matchup.
- Devaughn Vele is another sleeper for me in Week 2 against the Ravens. Baltimore allowed the third-highest slot target rate in Week 1, while Vele played around 50% of his snaps from the slot. The Ravens also allowed the fifth-lowest first-read rate, meaning Tyler Shough may not be able to lock onto Chris Olave as often. With Olave commanding a high first-read rate, that could force Shough to look toward his secondary options, including Vele.
- I would fade Alec Pierce in Week 2, as the Chiefs allowed the third-lowest YPRR in Week 1. We could see a similar situation with Daniel Jones, where he is forced to throw underneath to his shorter-area targets rather than pushing the ball downfield to Pierce.

- Tre Tucker has gone over 30 receiving yards just once in six career games against the Chargers.
- Matthew Golden is interesting after Week 1, when he posted a solid 2.38 YPRR. However, the Jets’ defense allowed the lowest YPRR in Week 1. This could be a matchup where you wait on Golden and see if his Week 1 performance was for real.

Week 2 Tight End Rankings & Start/Sit

Trey McBride is the clear top tight end in fantasy for Week 2 after commanding a massive 32.4% target share in Week 1. He also has a strong history against the Seahawks, producing at least 50 receiving yards in four straight games against them.
If Brock Bowers plays in Week 2, you have to treat him as a top tight end for the week. His talent and role in the offense give him too much upside to consider sitting him if he’s active. He has been listed as doubtful.

Expect a bounce-back game from Colston Loveland in Week 2 after a Week 1 performance to forget, when he saw just a 6.9% target share. The encouraging part was his 84.2% route participation rate, showing that he is at least being heavily involved in the passing game. Loveland now faces a Vikings defense that allowed the fourth-highest TPRR and YPRR to tight ends in Week 1. That could point to vulnerabilities over the middle of the field and in the flats, areas where tight ends can become primary reads or safety blankets for their quarterbacks. Loveland has a good opportunity to turn his routes into more targets and production in Week 2.
Isaiah Likely came out of Week 1 with a big performance, finishing with 23.8 fantasy points and a massive 27.6% target share. He now faces the Rams, who allowed a top-five TPRR to tight ends in Week 1, giving Likely an opportunity to continue serving as Jaxson Dart’s safety blanket in the passing game. Likely also posted a 79.5% first-read rate, showing just how often he was the first look in the offensive game plan. I’m expecting another strong performance from Likely in Week 2.

I’m going to continue rolling out Dallas Goedert in Week 2. I know a portion of his Week 1 production came from a 43-yard touchdown, but Goedert has proven to be a consistent fantasy option when he is one of the top two targets in the Eagles’ offense. Don’t expect another 21-point performance, but he should still be able to produce solid fantasy numbers. The Titans ranked inside the top 5 in targets allowed to players lined up inline in Week 1, while Goedert ranked sixth among tight ends in inline snap rate. Expect the Eagles to take advantage of that matchup and get Goedert involved again in Week 2.
Mark Andrews may have disappointed with just 6.9 fantasy points in Week 1, but there were still encouraging signs. Andrews ran a route on 70% of the Ravens’ passing plays and commanded a strong 24% target share. Baltimore could also be without 9 targets that went to Zay Flowers and Jakobi Lane in Week 1, opening the door for Andrews to take on an even bigger role. Look for Andrews to see more targets and have a stronger fantasy performance in Week 2.

Kyle Pitts will look to rebound in Week 2 after putting up zero fantasy points in the opener. While the Panthers’ defense was carved up in Week 1, Pitts hasn’t had much success against Carolina throughout his career. He has just one touchdown in 10 career games against the Panthers and has surpassed 50 receiving yards only three times. Pitts’ history against Carolina makes him a risky option in Week 2.
Jake Ferguson also disappointed in Week 1 and could be in for another quiet performance despite the Commanders allowing a big game to Dallas Goedert in the opener. Ferguson commanded just a 5.9% target share, which is concerning for his potential involvement moving forward. He also has a poor history against Washington, failing to surpass seven fantasy points in 5 of his 7 career games against the Commanders. Ferguson could be a tight end to fade in Week 2.
Michael Mayer has some sleeper potential after commanding a 23% target share in Week 1. His Week 2 outlook will depend heavily on whether Brock Bowers plays, but if Bowers is out, Mayer could once again see a significant role in the passing game.
