Week 4 provided some unfavorable game scripts, impacting our hit rates. Multiple players in the Top 5 at the defensive line and linebacker positions finished with single-digit fantasy performances last week. It comes with the territory of playing fantasy football. We don’t stress it; we learn and move on to the following week. Our hit rate for players to sit was strong at 66.6%, the best of the season. Cooper DeJean continued his strong play and justified himself as a weekly starter for IDP managers with a DB17 finish going into Week 4.

Defensive Line | Start/Sit Player Analysis Week 4

Yaya Diaby | DL | Tampa Bay Buccaneers

Week 4 brings us a massive early-season matchup in the NFC with two undefeated teams in the Tampa Bay Buccaneers hosting the Philadelphia Eagles. Despite some injuries for both teams, this one has the makings of an early-season shootout and a potential playoff matchup preview. As much as I wanted to go with the revenge game scenario for former Eagles pass rusher Hasson Reddick. However, Yaya Diaby intrigues me the most in this matchup.

The former University of Louisville product has had a good start to the season with nine tackles and a sack through the first three games. He ranks as the DL40 and averages 13 fantasy points per game this season. The Philadelphia Eagles allow the 2nd most tackles per game (59) to defensive linemen this season. The Philadelphia offensive line has allowed a surprising four sacks in Week 3. IDP managers should be able to start Diaby with confidence in this matchup.

Dorance Armstrong | DL | Washington Commanders

Very few IDP managers know Dorance Armstrong is the DL9 through the season’s first three games. The veteran EDGE rusher is excelling in his second year under Dan Quinn, whom he previously played for when both were with the Dallas Cowboys. Armstrong is averaging 5 tackles per game and a sack per game. The Atlanta Falcons have been strong, allowing just 1.3 sacks per game, which is fifth-best in the NFL. However, the Falcons allow the third most tackles per game to opposing DL. Armstrong offers a safe enough tackle floor that he can be relied on even if he doesn’t collect a sack in Week 4.

Linebacker | Week 4 Start/Sit Rankings

Christian Rozeboom | LB | Carolina Panthers

You might want to look away if you’re a fantasy manager who favors grades and metrics. Christian Rozeboom is your typical bad player in a system that relies on him to be an every-down player. The Carolina Panthers LB is playing 100% of the defensive snaps this season. The downside is he ranks 114th out of 123 qualifying linebackers in overall grade according to Pro Football Focus

He doesn’t appear to be in jeopardy of losing his role as the team’s top IDP option at LB. Rozeboom is the LB36 on the season, averaging eight tackles per game. The New England Patriots are 1 of 2 teams allowing 60 tackles or more to opposing LBs this season. Christian Rozeboom has the top 12 upside this week with his favorable matchup.

Eric Wilson | LB | Minnesota Vikings

IDP managers were devastated to see Vikings’ LB Blake Cashman head to injured reserve. The next man-up mentality is always key, especially in the LB position. Those managers who acquired Eric Wilson off waivers have been pleasantly surprised. While Ivan Pace has outscored him in each of the past two weeks, Wilson offers a safer floor.

Eric Wilson has 17 tackles and 2 forced fumbles in his two starts this season. He has a favorable matchup with the Pittsburgh Steelers, who allow 17 tackles per game to linebackers in 2025. Wilson is unlikely to keep this role with Cashman set to return around midseason, so now’s the time to take advantage and cash in on your waiver wire acquisition.

Defensive Backs | Start/Sit Week 4 Fantasy Football

Jalen Pitre | DB | Houston Texans

The Houston Texans have started the season 0-3 and are in last place in one of the weakest divisions in football. Their defense has been a letdown, and this week, they released veteran safety Chauncey Gardner-Johnson. There has been little change from a fantasy perspective, and I’m still extremely high on Jalen Pitre this season.

The former Baylor DB finished as the DB1 in his rookie season and has struggled with his play since. Pitre is the DB39 through the first 3 weeks and has a chance to improve his standing this week with a plus matchup against the division rival Tennessee Titans. The Titans allow 17.7 tackles per game to the safety position, the second most in the NFL. Jalen Pitre should be in your lineups in Week 4.

Cole Bishop | DB | Buffalo Bills

The Buffalo Bills continue to cruise through the easiest part of their schedule to start the season. Outside of the Baltimore Ravens game, the team hasn’t been challenged much. One bright spot has been the fantasy production of second-year DB Cole Bishop. He has finished with double-digit fantasy points in every game this season.

The fear of the Buffalo defensive starters sitting out the majority of the second half of this game is the only thing that concerns me about Bishop this week. The New Orleans Saints are a top 10 favorable matchup for opposing safeties. I mentioned this week in my Waiver Wire article that Taylor Rapp was a cut candidate, and Cole Bishop has taken over as the DB to roster for the Buffalo secondary.

Top IDPs to Stream in Week 4 | Start/Sit

Kenny Clark | DT | Dallas Cowboys

I can’t pass on this revenge game in primetime on Sunday Night Football. While all eyes will be on star EDGE rusher Micah Parsons, I’m banking on veteran DT Kenny Clark to have a big game against his old team. The Dallas Cowboys’ defense has faced the fifth-most rushing attempts (88) this season. I love Clark in a streaming spot to have a 4 or 5 tackle game and help IDP managers get some bonus points in DT-premium scoring leagues.

Gervon Dexter | DT | Chicago Bears

After some unfavorable streaming hit rates over the last two weeks, we turn back to a player who hit for us in Week 1. Chicago Bears DT Gervon Dexter is a player who I like again this week to bring some much-needed fantasy points to your lineup. He was a monster for us in Week 1 with a double-digit fantasy performance and DT15 overall. However, he has not eclipsed 10 fantasy points since that game, so I’m not blaming fantasy managers who dropped him. I love his chances to get back to producing with a matchup against the Las Vegas Raiders, who allow the second-most sacks per game (4.0) through the season’s first month.

Greg Newsome | CB | Cleveland Browns

I love targeting players who play opposite excellent coverage CBs when streaming at the cornerback position. Greg Newsome benefits greatly from playing with Denzel Ward, who opposing quarterbacks tend to shy away from. Newsome has 11 tackles over the past two games and has a favorable matchup with the Detroit Lions, who allow 44 tackles per game to opposing cornerbacks. Newsome is an excellent option in Week 4 if you need a CB to stream.

Kyu Blu Kelly | CB | Las Vegas Raiders

I’m not expecting IDP managers to know who Kyu Blu Kelly is other than an awesome name. The veteran CB is on his fourth team in three seasons to start his career. He is quietly putting together a productive season for the Raiders with 16 tackles and 3 passes defended. His safe tackle floor is why he is in your lineups in Week 4. We will ride the hot hand and hope the superb production continues.

Players to Sit | Week 4 Fantasy Football

Al-Quadin Muhammad | DL | Detroit Lions

The Detroit Lions can’t seem to keep pass rushers who complement Aidan Hutchinson healthy. Marcus Davenport showed promise again before he was injured just two games into the season. Veteran pass rusher Al-Quadin Muhammad has been highly productive in his last two games with 6 tackles and 3.5 sacks.

He was one of the top additions for IDP managers on waiver wires this week. Let’s temper expectations with him this week, as the Cleveland Browns have surrendered just 2 sacks per game and are one of 11 teams allowing 14 tackles or fewer to the DL position. Muhammad will have more favorable matchups as the season progresses.

Henry To’oTo’o | LB | Houston Texans

Finding a linebacker to place in the sit column every week is painful. The position is thin, and any player with an 80% snap share or higher is almost a must-start for most IDP managers. Since you’re forcing my hand, I’ll highlight some negatives on Henry To’oTo’o, who saw a dip in production in Week 3 snaps. As I mentioned, the Texans’ defense is searching for answers, leading to some changes ahead of Week 4. The Texans have depth behind the young LB in E.J. Speed and Christian Harris, so it would not surprise me if they rotate at the LB2 spot while Azeez Al-Shaair remains their top LB option. I could be overthinking this, but we should temper expectations for To’oTo’o in Week 4.

Jeremy Chinn | DB | Las Vegas Raiders

The Chicago Bears look to continue their winning ways against the Las Vegas Raiders in Week 4. The Bears are a bottom-10 matchup for tackles allowed to opposing safeties. Jeremy Chinn has been average this season with the Raiders. Teammate Isaiah Pola-Mao has outscored Chinn over the first month of the season. Based on the matchup, I look to pivot to one of the streaming options in favor of Jeremy Chinn this week.

FAQ | Week 4 IDP Start Sit Fantasy Football 2025

Q1: Who are the must-start IDP players for Week 4?

A: Top Week 4 IDP start options include Yaya Diaby (DL, Buccaneers), Dorance Armstrong (DL, Commanders), Christian Rozeboom (LB, Panthers), Eric Wilson (LB, Vikings), Jalen Pitre (DB, Texans), and Cole Bishop (DB, Bills). Each has a strong role, favorable snap counts, and matchups that should provide double-digit fantasy point potential.

Q2: Which IDP players should I bench or fade this week?

A: Players to avoid in Week 4 include Al-Quadin Muhammad (DL, Lions), Henry To’oTo’o (LB, Texans), and Jeremy Chinn (DB, Raiders). Either tough matchups, defensive rotations, or scheme usage limit their chances to deliver strong fantasy production.

Q3: Who are the best Week 4 IDP streaming options?

A: The top streamers for Week 4 are Gervon Dexter (DT, Bears), Kenny Clark (DT, Cowboys), Greg Newsome (CB, Browns), and Kyu Blu Kelly (CB, Raiders). All of them have favorable game scripts or high tackle opportunity matchups, making them great one-week lineup fillers.

Q4: What hidden gem IDPs should I monitor from last week?

A: IDP Gems from Week 3 include Robert Spillane (LB, Raiders) after his breakout 36-point week, Derwin James (DB, Chargers) who reminded everyone he can post 40+ point games, George Karlaftis (DL, Chiefs) with a massive primetime performance, and Carson Schwesinger (LB, rookie) who just posted his first 20+ point game. These players are worth monitoring for both short-term upside and dynasty value.

Q5: Should I prioritize tackle-heavy players or sack-dependent players this week?

A: In Week 4, tackle-heavy options like Rozeboom, Wilson, and Pitre offer safer weekly floors in most IDP scoring formats. Sack-dependent pass rushers such as Diaby or Armstrong remain strong upside plays if you need a boom week, but they carry more volatility as is expected from the DL position.

Q6: Which positions are scoring the most IDP points so far in 2025?

A: Through three weeks, defensive linemen have led the way with multiple top-12 overall fantasy scorers, while every-down linebackers continue to anchor lineups with consistent tackle production. Safeties like Derwin James and emerging players such as Cole Bishop also remain steady high-floor producers.
